Excellent quality.

Two pounds of wonderful tasting ginger and we know ginger is great for many reasons. The color is that yellow gold and the pieces vary in size. It's tasty, not too much sugar and the spicy kick is perfect. However the elephant in the room is the Sulphur and before you don't order this great product I want to pass on some info about sulpher dioxide necessary to keep things from spoiling to quick : 1) it's true that Sulphur is not good if you're breathing the gas or eating large quantities of the preservative. 2) Sulphur is found on and in many fruits naturally 3) as a preservative it's used in dried fruits, wines and other food items 4) GOOD NEWS, the sulfur found on grapes, other fruits and dried fruits like ginger, you can wash it off! Take the amount you want to consume and wash the ginger using clean water just as would if you were going to eat some grapes or other foods which is a good practice anyway No, I'm not a doctor, just a researcher careful about what I consume, I have to be because, like others, I have a body that has some issues Always do your own research using reputable sources and be proactive with your health. I have never had any issues with crystallized ginger. Very woody and weak flavored, not very helpful for my stomach. I grind it to add to oatmeal and use about double normal amount to notice at all. Will not buy again.

I love dried ginger and always trying something new. First of all, this is a good buy for the weight & price. Second, it is from Thailand and can be reasonably trusted. Third, it is tasty with a bit of a "bite" to it, not too much but enough to know that you are eating ginger. Yes, it was treated with Sodium metabisulfite, which if you are allergic to you should avoid of course. Of course how many wine drinkers know that most wines are treated with Sodium metabisulfite to stop any fermentation either before or after bottling. People don't like a thin layer of "sediment" at the bottom of their wine bottle, which you get when the fermentation process is stopped without Sodium metabisulfite. Back to the ginger, yes it has sugar on it. The sugar is primarily added to keep the pieces of ginger from sticking together. I just put the ginger in a strainer and shake it around, stir it with my fingers, and shake a majority of the sugar off. No more sugar problem. But this ginger tastes delicious, I like the slices much better than other brands which are cubed. Some pieces have a bit of fiber in them, of course it would, it is ginger! I just chew it into a nice little wad and chew some more and spit it out. Sometimes I just keep chewing on it just for something to chew on, no biggie. But, overall, this is some nice ginger!!
