Contrary to a previous comment, this device does work with sim cards. The GlocalMe data plans do not use a physical sim card, but there is a sim card slot where you can use sim cards from other brands/carriers. You absolutely can use a sim card with data purchased elsewhere vs buying data from the GlocalMe app.

Can I use it in the plane while traveling ?

I used this at a house I had rented at the beach - I was stationary - not in a moving vehicle or plane, etc. It worked great for me
