very strong, that's not an issue. I personally felt 4 washers were needed. But that's me... For me, it holds everything I use and the walls are poured concrete. I did not need to find a stud! Mounting was easy.

Perfect for inside of a weird cabinet we have. Added much needed storage for our Tupperware! Very sturdy love it!

Some years ago I bought several of these shelves at a building and supply store. When I saw them on Amazon, I bought two additional shelves as I needed two more on one side of my garage. They are identical to what I put up about five years ago. Easy to install and they look good. Not sure of their load rating, but I never put more than about 15 to 18 pounds of items on any one of the shelves.

This item is fantastic. It looks presentable, it's lightweight, and it holds a generous amount of items. It has already helped organize the laundry room. The hardware is all included so you don't officially have to buy anything else. It is also VERY sturdy when installed into wall studs. I can't say how sturdy it would be straight into the drywall. The only downside of this storage rack is a couple of annoying design flaws/oversights. 1) The drywall anchors are included, but I wanted to install it directly into the wall studs to make sure that it can hold the weight that I want it too. The problem is, the shelf's screw placement is 18 inches apart and studs are generally 16 inches apart. Do the math yourself... The only way to install it into the studs is by first putting another piece of wood on the wall to hold the screws. (see the picture) They could just as easily put the screw placement 16 inches apart instead of 18 inches, and it would be much easier to install into wall studs. 2) The screw placement is right next to the support "arms". The placement made it very hard for me to reach the screws with my drill, and I had to use a manual screwdriver to put in the screws. Not the end of the world, but pretty annoying.

Perfect compliment to our laundry area to dry small things.

Easy to install

I don't know why barely anyone seems to care about the actual capacity of this shelf. I checked the model number and found out in the H***d**** website as below: Shelf Weight Capacity: 10 lbs./ Total Weight Capacity: 40 lbs. I put quite a bit of clothes on it, probably close to 20 pounds, and it's doing fine, looking still very sturdy. I was a bit anxious that the head of the screw would pop out and fall, but surprisingly it's very stable. I got it at almost half of the original price, in the early 20 dollars range, so I'm pretty satisfied. I got two 24-inch ones: one in the closet and another on the wall of my room. In the room, I drilled into a dead end (there was an unexpected beam at the tip, not a dry wall) so I was a bit worried if the anchors won't work -- but surprisingly screwing in still worked. If it goes on sale, I'll consider buying more. But this one unit at 43 dollars plus tax? That's too expensive.

Can flip and use either way.

This is a handy little shelf for small spaces. I put one in a lower kitchen cabinet which had wasted space above the small appliances I had stored in it on the floor of the cabinet. I liked it so much, I bought a second shelf for a bathroom linen closet that had multiple shelves already, but again, a lower one with 'wasted' space above it, that I now use for curling irons, and other hair appliances. I don't know how easy it would have been for me to install, but for my husband, it took less than 20 minutes. Every time I look at those two spaces, I smile....I love being more organized! It was a great purchase! I especially liked the fact that I could have the 'lip' of the shelf turned upward or downward. I chose to have the 'lip' turned upward to help keep items in place.
