GL-3001–21 Gas Level Monitor

In short this product works fine on 47Kg gas bottles, even thought the instructions only mentions 5, 11 and 33Kg bottles. The site where my static caravan is based only sells gas in the 47Kg propane bottles. Most ultrasound-based products make it clear they only work on cylinders 200 to 350 mm in diameter, but the 47Kg is dia 375mm. I even wrote to Truma technical services and they confirmed 375mm is outside the operating range of their product. Given the price tag I decided not to take the risk. This little fella came up trumps, though, and as a bonus is quite a bit cheaper than the other branded ultrasound devices. I tried it on 3 gas bottles where I had a rough idea of levels and it worked just fine on all 3. The levels were what I was expecting - one about 1/5th full, one about a quarter and the other a full bottle. Happy camper! Glad I took a chance on the Gaslock.

I bought this item in April 2016. It has never been successful, I should have returned it immediately. My error was to persevere with it. I shouldn't have. This is £24, plus time, totally wasted. Considering its task, this is an expensive piece of useless kit and I cannot get a refund. That shows the faith of the manufacturer. Please do not buy one, learn from my experience. I've been camping since 1960's so have considerable experience with gas bottles and accessories. This does not work!

Brilliant item. Takes the guess work out of knowing how much gas is left in the bottles! Quickly received.

good product at least I can get a reasonably accurate gas level now

i was dubious in purchasing this product due to some of the reviews but i needed something to check the 47kg propane cylinders on the temporary showers for the firefighters i have set up. This seems to have ben able to provide me with fairly accurate levels for each of the cylinders i have tried it out on.

Seems pretty useless to me, though to be fair I've not had more than a quick "shufty" at it. I've two 6Kg steel propane cylinders in my motorhome, and although I could get some indication of gas level, I first had to take the cylinder out and give it a shake to give me an idea of where the level was, otherwise I was getting a lot of false readings. So, save yourself some money and just take the cylinder out and give it a shake! I will continue to play with the gas level and I'll post a follow up revue if I find that I'm being unfair to the device.

Good and it works

Indicator works reasonably well on my two 6kg gas bottles for caravan but does not work at all on two 13kg bottles used for home barbecue. Fortunately it was bought for caravan use so it may turn out to be useful.

Un po' incerto sulla qualità del prodotto, visto che si parla solo di un'altra marca per lo scopo di utilizzo, ho voluto investire pochi euro per prova. Bhe, devo dire che funziona perfettamente, ho appena effettuato il test sulle bombole del BBQ. Una è nuova e l'ha indicato subito, l'altra sul finire mi ha confermato il livello presunto. Ottimo prodotto, ora finisce dritto dritto sul camper. Probabilmente ne acquisterò un altro per il BBQ, così da averlo a casa.

Bien lire le mode d'emploi et petite astuce pour un bon fonctionnement appuyer alternativement a droite et a gauche pour bien plaquer sur la bouteille "qui n'est par définition pas plate" Alors la lecture s'affiche correctement a tout les coup.
