The purpose of this book is to set students on the road to learning Modern Standard Arabic by equipping them with all the skills they need to read and write vowelised Arabic texts. By the end of the book students should be able to: identify all the letters of the Arabic alphabet in their isolate and joined forms know the difference between the long and short vowel sounds and how to read them, including the diphthongs '-ay' and '-ow' read the tanween word endings understand the roles of sukoon and shadda read words containing a hamza, no matter its position within a word recognise the alif al-maqsura identify the sun and moon letters and understand their effect on the pronunciation of words defined by 'al-' read fully vowelised Arabic text Although this work is primarily intended for classroom use, it is also well-suited to self-taught learners. To this end, an audio CD recording of all the materials in the book will be made available to help foster good pronunciation. This workbook assumes no prior knowledge of Arabic whatsoever. Clear, simple explanations introduce each new topic, supported by a wealth of exercises and activities, thereby helping to reinforce the learning process and to ensure rapid progression. The use of colour coding to highlight each point under discussion, as well as the inclusion of quality colour illustrations, serve to enhance the learning experience. The materials included offer extensive reading and writing practice as well as the opportunity for dictation exercises as a means of monitoring the learners' progress. By the end of the book, students should be sufficiently competent in reading and writing the Arabic script to be able to progress to part two of the series in which they will start to learn Arabic grammar and vocabulary; read and construct sentences with understanding; and begin speaking this important international language. Easy to follow!
I was really saddened due to the fact I forgot how to read Arabic and now I can't believe how easy this book was to follow along with the YouTube videos. It was better than attending any online classes in my opinion. I can do it on my own time, and everything is easy to process and memorize. I'm grateful to Imran for creating this book and online videos

Outstanding Value And Essential For Beginners
Outstanding value for money. A must have for anyone thinking of learning Arabic. The videos on youtube which go with this book are superb and allow you to learn using video, audio and printed material. The teacher Dr Imran Hamza Alawiye is a brilliant and skilful communicator who makes the most tedious part of learning any Semitic language - battling to master the alphabet - fun and brings it within everybody's grasp. Once you have started to work with this teacher you will not want to give up - if you are a serious student he really does provide you with the incentive to succeed. Make sure you check out his videos on youtube (they have the same title as the book)..You won't be disappointed.

Definitely recommended.
I have struggled to learn arabic for some time, being held back by relying on transliteration. This book has changed all of that. Am now reading and writing arabic script. This book is invaluable. The learning is set out in a clear concise manner and elements are introduced so as not to confuse the student. Thank you Dr. Imran.

Helpful book
Great book for beginners. You donโt need the book to follow the lessons on the YouTube channel by dr Imran Hamza Alawiye, they are self explanatory, but as a support it makes sense. Lots of exercises.

Fantastic book and Online course
Really comprehensive and easy to use, the course on youtube with this book is helping me pick up the Arabic language thanks to Dr Imran Alawiye. I'm really enjoying learning something new.

Awesome
Amazing book really helpful and has taught me loads and I am not a studious person. It covers a lot and is progressive so take as much time as you need per section when mastered simply move on and it covers all the basics to read, say and write basic words. Love it
