Staedtler Mars 502 Rotary Action Lead Pointer

Ahhh! Sooo good. This is for 2mm pencil lead holders. See a video before using. It has its technicality. Lovely product. They are known for their quality. Knock offs are bad quality and lead breaks. This one is original and works like charm. Light and small. Easy to carry.

Bit complicated sharpner. YouTube videos on its proper use really helped. It can sharpen a 2mm lead in two ways. A blunt point and a sharp point. There are two small holes on the side with a symbol telling the blunt and the sharp point. These actually set the length of lead for each type of sharpening. Once the required length is chosen the lead holder has to be inserted slowly into the main larger hole and kept rotating. The sharpening is done when it ritates without much drag. I have used only for staedtler mars technico 780 lead holder and it may not work for any 2mm lead holder (as the main hole should accept it)

Packaging was non-existent. Just Amazon bubblewrap on top of Staedtler cardboard box. Definitely needs improvement. Pros: 1) Simple design. Rotating design is easier on hands than other twist type lead sharpeners. 2) Sharpens to a VERY sharp point (attached pic) and has a blunt option as well. Cons: 1) Very pricey. For Rs. 826/- you can get electric rotary sharpeners for normal pencils 2) Found a plastic mark/small hole on the pencil holder on the side which seems to be a manufacturing issue (pic attached) but doesn't affect structure or functionality. 3) Heard that it doest support non-Staedtler pencils, but couldn't test it.

Don't know what it does. It just does not work and i wasted my money. Tried to return, but f***ed up

The product is good But feel the price is really steep Also there are no instructions how to use. Had to Google it, but why should one have to...

The sharpener is really good. It sharpens to a fine point but the only flaw only certain clutch pencils are compatible with this sharpener so have to be very careful in buying new clutch pencil or i might have to buy the staedtler clutch pencil. Otherwise the product is really good

Its a good sharpner for your 2 mm leads. Although for the current price (1099 as of this revier) you are better off getting wood pencils or just wait for discount

**Read the full review before you decide** Immediately after purchase, the product worked well and no hassle in using along with Staedtler pencil. After few months, the rotary action wasn't good since the aligned changed and contacting Staedtler did not help as they want you to courier the product to their vendor in India. Then after few days, the bottom part which holds the metal to sharp the led came off. I reached out to Staedtler customer services in Germany and they investigated the product and sent me a replacement directly from Germany. This is best customer service I can ask for... Kudos to their team
