Couture Sewing Techniques

Im impressed with the kind of information that is jam-packed in this book.Ms schaffer has really given hands down indepth information about western couture sewing.Im sure the techniques can be applied to Indian wear in the same fashion.Every detail is done by hand,with accompanying diagrams,not pictures mind you,but the reader gets the overall picture.Since Indian wear is all about intricate hands work,this book should go down well with the techniques involved here.Mind you,this book is not about hand embroidery,but how the final design is sewn.

I love Claire Schaeffer's books. In this book she has really explained Couture in depth and in the real sense. I have not yet found a book like this. She points out to work done by great designers like Madeleine Vionnet and the like. Thank you Claire.

It is the worse book ever on techniques of sewing..little disappointed with Amazon too as they didn't accept my request for returning it.please don't buy this book everyone...Total waste of money!!!

This book is a terrific addition to my sewing reference library. Clear, well written instructions. Great couture techniques.

Great detailed book

I like to sew by hand, and since couture still does a lot of handsewing there was a treasure trove on tips I hadn't found anywhere else. Also, I am used to very high quality clothes and I was always dissappointed with the quality of my finished sewing products. After reading this book I now know exactly what I did wrong and how to improve. I can highly reccomend this book, especially for hand sewers, but also for everyone else who wants to sew clothes of better quality.

I recommend this to sewers, both new and old. I have sewn for 55 years and would have loved having this long ago. Excellent!

This is a great book full of very practical advice. It is easy to follow and has many pictures to assist the reader. I am finding more and more with this authors books my sewing is improving. Highly recommend to all sewing enthusiasts.
