It is not used for anything particular, just fun. It is especially neat to him knowing he has a secret lock on it that 'no one' can get into! I think this is a great product for any kid (or adult) who wants a cool looking book to jot things down in. We would purchase again if the need arose. We bought this as a gift for someone and he was really excited to receive it. He especially loved that it has a lock!

He comes back to tell me that he is so excited to write down his day because of his new book. The book is sturdy and the pages give that old time diary look. It has a good enough lock to keep it safe. It’s worth it I would say. It’s the same colour as pictured and lots of pages. Valu for money🤗

Our son has been asking for a diary for a long time. We looked at toy stores, at book stores and at his school book fair. Every one we found was pink and sparkly, or had girl themed covers. On a whim I searched Amazon and found this diary. It came this week and our son was thrilled and surprised. I showed him how to use the little lock and where "we" will hide the keys. He ran off right away to write in it. The book itself is well made - a hardback type cover with lined pages inside. The binding is nice - no pages trying to escape. The obvious attraction for kids will be the "keep out" and "do not enter" signs on the front. The lock is a little junky, like the other reviewer said, but that isn't a big deal for us. If it breaks, we'll just buy him a small lock to replace it. For this price I don't expect to find a high dollar lock on the diary. The price of $9.99 plus free SuperSaver shipping (for orders over $25) made this a good deal. Especially if you've been unable to find a boy-themed diary locally.

I bought this for my 9yr old son and he LOVED it. He thought it was so cool. He doesn't really journal in it as I had hoped, he draws in it, but still very nice. He hides his key and changes the key location if he thinks anyone may have found it. He literally guards it like treasure because the journal creates this impression that whatever's inside is precious...even though after he draws something he comes and shows it to me lol. It's really awesome how he protects it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this for other kids his age.

I was super excited about this diary for my 8 year old son. It looks great and he really likes to use it, especially he loves the fact that he can lock it. However, the picture of the glowing in the dark is a little misleading. I had to charge it under really bright light for about an hour to get "glow in the dark" effect and the glow was really week compare to the one on the photo. I was unable to get any glow from just leaving it on the table in a regularly lighted room. The lock also feels a little flimsy from the perspective an adult, but my son likes it. I would say it's ok gift for good value if person on the receiving end didn't see the picture used to advertise it.

We got this for our grandson who’s 7. Perfect for him and his “secrets”. The 2 keys are small so putting them on a ribbon, string, keychain, etc. helps to find them and make sure you keep one in a safe place in case the other one’s lost.

Preso per mio figlio di 8 anni, restio ad esprimere le proprie emozioni, con mia grande sorpresa l'ha subito utilizzato per i suoi piccoli pensieri, motivato dal fatto che fossero custoditi dal piccolo lucchetto. Non é molto grande e le pagine non hsnno righe ma Sicuramente lo riprenderò quando avrà finito il primo.
