Technical issue

EDIT: This mic has a boost in the high frequencies, so if you record your voice from 1 feet distance from the mic while speaking a bit loud, it becomes a bit throaty and very unpleasant for longer duration recordings. But if you go close enough to the mic ,you get a proximity effect which is descent and the recording sounds warmer. A little bit of EQ can help too to decrease the throatiness and make the low end richer. I compared it with an MKE 600 shotgun for voice over purposes and it holds its ground very well with a little EQ and mic technique ,especially also in ambient sound rejection and low noise floor. The MKE 600 is 5 times costly mind you. packaging was really bad from this seller. but mic has been working great. if you have a noisy room it will work better compared to any condenser mic. also in any outdoor performance. but the snr of this mic is very low since it sensitivity is low and also needs double the amplification. hence your noise will be amplified too that much. i bought it as an upgrade over bm800 in which case its super. it can only give you a max snr of 60db ,also wouldnt capture details like a good condenser mic.hence not preferred for studio recordings.

If you don't have budget for SM58, buy it! Great Product n if you have a noisy environment, then don't buy a condensor mic, just buy this one! doesn't catch outside noise much! nice for people like me who don't have money for sound treatment in their room and have constant noises in the background!

Packing is good but mic mouth is shape out... see top of mic.. I am returning and re ording same. Hope I will get good item next time. It's taken 8 days to delivery for prime member. Again I have to wait one more week.

I have used many different microphones for instruction videos, and podcasts. For the majority of voices the Shure SM-48 is the best bang for your buck. It has a very clear sound. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a quality XLR mic on a budget.

La plupart des personnes connaissent le Shure SM58 et pour avoir tester les 2 produits, j'ai constaté que le produit était le même. Je n'ai pas vraiment vu de différence entre-eux et pour quasiment le même prix, je conseille ce micro. L'emballe est tout de même compliqué à ouvrir mais au moins il n'est pas prêt d'arrivé en mauvaise état. Testé en studio.

I have not heard the difference in sound even side by side with SM58 ...the only difference is the you have to put a little more gain.

Suitable for most people (but people will inevitable drop WAY more than they need because oo shiny tingz.. like my friend who spent 150 more than I did for a barely perceivable difference (coming from a low key audiophile)). I use it for home karaoke with a mixer with EQ settings on board. Mum is happy with it, I’m happy with it, my wallet is happy with it.
