Does it have similar sound quality to an alexa or google home? or perhaps better?

Tremendous sound. Pulls in stations I've never heard on any other radio, and I've a few out here in remote ranch country. However I can't compare to those cityfolk products in your question. It is a DGLU, this radio. (Darn good little unit.)

How do i tune this radio? the numbers do not seem to match up with the numbers broadcasted by radio stations? for example, i'm looking for 89.9...

This is a 1960's replica. In the 60's the radios didn't have digital tuning. You just scrolled (turn the knob) along the printed numerous until you were at the desired station. The closer you got to the station, the better the reception was.
