First, I had no problem with the four I bought. The Ultreo was by far and away the best toothbrush we ever had. However, I am confused. I thought they went out of business. But I see that on their site www.Ultreo.com they are selling the brush for $150. Then again, Amazon is selling it for $200. I just bought a DazzlePro and it seems to be almost as good as the Ultreo.

Q: Does the new Ultero from the new manufacturer have the same power/charging problems that killed the original?

Ultero no longer exists, thanks to the big manufacturers that squeezed the smaller but promising company. Ultero had a great machine using ultrasound. I don't believe you can buy Ultero, and if you can, you can't get brush replacements. Thus I had to purchase Phillips SonicCare. The charging problems you referred to still exists and the solution is to run down the batteries every two weeks. The batteries need to be exercised frequently, otherwise they develop a memory and eventually will not charge. I have had my Phillips unit for over five years. So remember to not place the unit on the charger every two or three weeks, and run the unit down until it buzzes lightly, then recharge it. Runs great and I replace the bristle/brush unit every year. Hope this helps.
