If I’m completely honest it’s probably a 3 out 5 star product in terms of quality. So why give it 5 star?? Because my balcony door is not a standard size. Apparently there are two standard sizes of patio doors that most of pet companies make and neither has the right height range. My balcony is 84 inches tall for reference. I was hesitant to get this because what I really wanted was one with the glass, but I searched high and low and unless I wanted to pay big bucks for a custom fitted one, the was virtually my only option. So I bought it along with some plexiglass and some weather proofing strips. The door has the grooves that plexiglass can slide in. The plexiglass came in a roll, and I cut it to size but it wouldn’t lay flat and would pop out of the grooves which is why you can see some black duct tape, but this is my fault for purchasing the wrong type of plexiglass not an issue with the patio door. Anyway I was satisfied with the end result. We got it at the beginning of January and it blocked most of the cold air and we still stayed warm. Still doing well and I gotta say I’m super happy I ended up getting. I’m glad it’s even available considering I had no other options. So the extra stars are for 1 for making a product that fits my balcony door, 2 for being super affordable compared to other patio doors and 3 for keeping my dog and cat super happy as they can people watch whenever they feel like it without having to wait for me to open the balcony door. Edit: For reference my dog is about 55 lb, mixed shepherd breed. Hates motorcycles so he runs through the flap door at full speed whenever he hears one and the patio door has not budged.

This was definitely not what I expected for the money I paid. It is flimsy and does not easily fit into a patio door. Was the right size for the dog but difficult to fit into the grooves of the patio door. Once installed into the door an individual who was overweight would not be able to get through the gap left for them to access indoors and outdoors. The flap was stiff and needed to be shortened this was another exercise in futility, extremely difficult to get the flap back into position, in fact I removed it as I could not close the fixture back in place. Of course then it was difficult to actually open and shut the unit because the flap adjustment would not allow it to adjust freely and started to tear the netting. Someone thought of a good idea but just didn't follow through on the actual application. I definitely would not recommend it.

Fits perfectly in place and there is no need to cut the screen. Works great. Size was an issue though. I ordered the small for my 10 pound dog (said up to 22 pounds) and she couldn’t get through the opening, so I ordered a medium and they told me after the order went through it wasn’t available and they were replacing it with an X-Large. It’s up to 100 pounds but it works great! Big enough for her to easily push the flap and large enough for her to get through.

1. the product is easy to install, EXCEPT for the fact that its design didn't factor in the sliding door lock mechanism that keeps the dog door from being flush to the frame, so we had to remove the lock. 2. its material seems to be sturdy enough for our 2 little ones. 3. the weather isn't a big factor, no direct sun on ours, and maybe occasional blowing rain from the patio, so only time will tell. 4. I could give a 5 star to the overall score, but for 1 MAJOR issue - who's misguided idea was it to use a frosted flap door instead of a clear one?! We HATE the frosted flap door! Animals are visual! The flap needs to be clear so they can see where they're going & what's on the other side! My 2 are having the hardest time with that! I have to push or pull the flap, just enough to show them the way is clear to go out or come in - but each time they have to use it again, they stop because they can't see. If you make a clear one, I'd appreciate a replacement please! I'm sure other pet owners have experienced the same issue, if not I will apologize. But if you provide a clear flap, or can direct me to finding one, I would, and my dogs would also, greatly appreciate it! Thanks, a semi-satisfied customer.
