Grow Up, David! (David Books)

I bought for my elementary library. My students love the No David books! They are quick reads with great pictures and a book even the youngest readers can relate too!

My younger children loved these books so much, & now my granddaughter loves them, too. The pictures are so absolutely cute & simple, with stories that children can relate to! My granddaughter started loving them at 18 months, & at almost 3, she still picks these books first; and we have a LOT of books!

Let's get real: little siblings are walking, talking chaos generators. And if you've ever witnessed the glorious mayhem a child named David can create, well, you're in for a nostalgic riot with "Grow Up, David!"This book is practically the instruction manual on how to drive your older sibling bonkers. We've got:The Art of Noise: Who needs an alarm clock when David can blast you awake with pots and pans? It's the auditory equivalent of a caffeine overdose!Interior Redecorating: Think Jackson Pollock but with mud, spaghetti, and questionable 'artistic' choices involving the dog. Your mom will LOVE it.Master of the Mess: David believes floors are just giant blank canvases for creative spills. Cleaning? That's what big brothers are for!But the true beauty of "Grow Up, David!" is how relatable it is. If you have a sibling (older or younger!), you'll see yourself reflected in these pages. It's that perfect mix of "Oh my gosh, he did THAT?!" and the heartwarming reminder that despite the sibling rivalry, there's an unbreakable bond underneath all the chaos.The illustrations are hilarious in their own right. David's expressions are pure mischief, and you can practically hear his big brother hollering "DAVID!!!" through the pages. Parents will especially appreciate the exasperated looks on the adults' faces – it's the unspoken "Yup, this is my life now" captured with pen and ink.So, should you get this book? If you want a good laugh, appreciate the chaotic energy of small children, and need a gift to subtly torture your siblings with, then YES. But fair warning: this book may very well inspire some copycat behavior. Proceed with caution…and prepare to hide the crayons.

My grandson loves these.

At the request of my sister in law, we picked up several of these books for my wonderful, beautiful niece and god daughter.She recognized David immediately and her face lit right up which really made our heats swell! These are some of her favorites and it showed.This wasn't her favorite one of the three we bought but she still loved it.
