Hello, yes there is a loop at the top of the clock mechanism on the back. I would warn you that although this is a lovely clock, mine has yellowed so the face isn't opaque blue/green glass colour it is a slightly yellow which is a bit disappointing. It is hung in the kitchen/dining room and we are a non-smoking household.

does this clock have an audible tick?

To be honest, I have not noticed it. I have it in my kitchen, so I guess that you can't hear it if you are cooking.

What is the guarantee period for this clock?

We returned two of these clocks and got our money back as the numerals were not straight!
