Great Book For Understanding How Your Body Functions
I originally bought this book because of the title thinking that it would help with my metabolism and give me answers to how to speed it up. In that regard the title was misleading but as I later learned while reading this book that metabolism refers to much more than how fast your body burns calories. Anyone serious about making their body the #1 priority and giving it what it needs to function properly and increase health longevity should read this book. Excellent, excellent, excellent. I could never be in the medical field but I understood enough to learn about the interactions of the body system as it refers to your health. The supplement list is great (I would love to know if there is an updated version in case new products are available). Also the test guide to learn where your problem areas are is very useful. All in all 5 star, I only wish there were more doctors like Dr. LaValle to assist people in there quest for optimal health.

Excellent reference book
I read this from cover to cover and marked pages to go back to. I would call this a holistic approach to health. It is over 500 very informative pages, (not counting the huge recommended reading list) but it is an easy read. It is a book you will want to keep for future reference. If you are looking for solutions to a specific problem, after reading the chapter, it would be a good idea to follow up with the references at the end. It is the accumulation of an awesome amount of research.

This Book covers it all!
I have been studying nutrition for over 20 years and have read many books that cover nutrition, supplements and detoxing. I have to say this book is an excellent source for anyone who wants to take the next step towards better health. Some of the chapters may get a bit technical for beginners but its very interesting and not at all boring. I even learned some things I didn't already know, so I have not been able to put the book down. It is a wealth of knowledge for people with health issues and for people without issues trying to achieve their best. Best of all the supplement recommendations are spot on and dosages are also given.

not formatted well for Kindle
Several of the tables are missing data - cut off to the right and several of the pages are truncated. Searching the index doesn't work and neither does the glossary at the end of the book. Because this book is full of valuable information it would be most helpful if the table of contents and the index worked correctly. Also if the tables could be read correctly. It is slightly better if it is read on my netbook, but still cuts off the bottom of pages etc. Until these issues are resolved - get the book in paper.

Favorite Book
This book is at the top of my favorites. I have extensively researched health and alternatives for more than a decade and this book ties all of the missing information of the "why's" in a neat bundle. It is excellent and fairly easily understood. I now carry it with me everywhere, open it every chance I have to reread a short passage... to have it really sink in...It has that "Ahha! I really get it now!" factor in almost every sub-chapter.

Great Referral book for your health
I choose to live a healthy lifestyle because, sorry to say, I donโt trust our medical care system. I depend on myself to care for myself. I use this book as my go-to health care encyclopedia. I make adjustments accordingly oftentimes based on advice from the author. I want to remain active and well as I move into my 60โs. I highly recommend it. Iโve read the book a couple of times and refer back to it frequently.

Good Information
Another book I'll always have on my health book shelf. The book is somewhat a dry read. But, if you can bear it, the information you take away from the read is really good. Another MUST READ for healthcare professionals who aren't afraid to learn something.
