Well, I guess the pictures speak for themselves. Bordeaux is a really nice color. It looks really pinkish until you add gloss. Wow. It really brings the color out. Turns it from a washed out pink red to a deep maroon. First pics: with gloss and stain Second pics: no stain Third pics: stain only I wish I would have burnt the wood before like another customer to really pop the grain, but I'm super happy with the color. If you compare the color to the 2002 stock maroon color it's pretty close and deep enough.

I am attaching a picture here of the variability you can get out of these dyes just by messing with the dilution and the finish. This is the Bordeaux dye, watered down to half, quarter and one-eighth strength, shown on an offcut with lacquer, polycrylic, no finish, and shellac. As you can see, just simple changes can make a lot of difference, but all of the options hilight the figure in the wood more than the non-dyed counterparts. I have used a few different colors of this brand before & always been happy, but this is the first time I did a side-by-side like this. Figured it could help to share it.

Received my tint the other day and had to use it immediately! I'm very happy and this is my first foray into dyeing wood. I tested it on two woods and got a nice red-pink. It came out darker than the pink I was aiming for but I'll just adjust my concentration next time. Happy overall.

Excellent color, does a nice job dyeing wood. Be careful when you cut the top off as it may squeeze out. I had some spill out. Get up immediately with towel and distilled vinegar and you will be fine.

These are the best tints I've found...last a long time and this gives a super rich deep red tone.
