NOT Just for climbing
To be brutally honest, I bought this for a cockring. I searched and searched for one that was around 1"3/8id (Seriously you can only find 1"1/2 or 1"1/4) the only thing I could find 1"3/8 was shower curtain rings, and I removed the clips (and I got like 16 of them for 10 bucks, lol) But they were just welded together and not very good, and decided to get a little higher quality so the SEARCH was back on.. Id finally found the perfect one right here.. It is JUST under the 1"3/8id i was looking for, with the diameter being thicker, a little tighter was perfect.. ZERO COMPLAINTS except kinda Pricy Very Light Seems and looks to be very high quality aluminum / finish / strength - Impossible to bend So if I ever need to hang a swing in the bedroom, I would totally trust this product

Tree squeeze ring
This is my smaller ring for a retrievable anchor I made for spar work. The ring works good, but the anodizing wore off kind of fast. I like to rappel down off spars when we can drop them. Anyway, literature says stuff should be replaced with signs of wear in one spot. The aluminum looks fine, to be honest, but in the interest of good practice and airing on the cautious side I’ve been rotating the ring to to try and spread the wear. I’ll have to try the SMC ones next to see how they stack up against it.

Damaged, probably from a return, so not new
Mine has a 3 cm long heavy gouge on the inside surface. At least it's size matched the description.
