Works great, no side effects like constipation or abdominal pain. My only issue is that they taste AWFUL. Reminds me of rancid meat. I've tried taking them with milk but it doesn't help. I fill my mouth with liquid, tilt my head back, drop it in my mouth then swallow really fast. I still get the taste at the back of my throat. Gags me so bad I'm afraid I'm going to have to discontinue. (They are not expired.) Gave 5 stars because it works. Taste is subjective. Manufacturer: PLEASE COAT THESE. They work too well to forgo them.

This is some good stuff!!!!! Brought all my iron levels to normal!! Let me explain my history. First I was only taking a multivitamin with iron plus Folate acid per my doctors instructions. My iron levels were already getting better but slowly. Reason: I had a hysterectomy to stop my heavy menstrual periods. Another Reason I'm anemic: I have Microcytic anemia from having an Alpha Thalassemia Trait. So this makes the red blood cells small. So basically I was on the struggle bus. So my hematologist said if things continued to go slowly I would need iron transfusions again. Yikes!! I didn't want those. Because I need benadryl with those. Ughh. So fast forward. After a recent follow up. I didnt see my normal doc, I saw her assistant. She suggested using these Blood Builders every other day. And wow what a life changer. My iron saturation went from 14 % to 30%. My other numbers went up too. Ferritin as well. ... plus these don't upset my stomach or give me heart like vitron- c. And no extra constipation. These have been a game changer. I wish I bought these years ago!! Every doctor needs to recommend these. For real!!! Edit: They are big!! But that never bothered me. But they do have a mini version.

38 y/o female reviewer here- my ferritin level was at 13ng/mL and it doubled to 26 in 4 months and total iron from 61mcg/dL to 182 just by taking this once every 2-3 days and some small dietary changes (more meats and nuts added and vitamin c drink with some meals). My fatigue, headaches, and heart palpitations have significantly reduced! No bad smell/taste and no nausea from this supplement. Some mild constipation was rare and improved with more fiber intake.
