Why not do this?
I've done Euro style, poured concrete, cable, floor heat and under tile cable floor heat. This system is the easiest and most cost effective I've seen available at this time. We are completely thrilled with this system under our new engineered hardwood. The only suggestions I might pass along is that we purchased the Roberts felt underlayment instead of the Quiet Walk. The pad thickness is at least as good ,it was slightly less money ,and the Roberts is pre taped and seamed. Quality is great. Tough enough to stand some strains during the installation. Anyway the Quietwarmth panels do what they're designed to do. The instructions are straightforward and the installation was easy. We used their WiFi thermostat ,which we really appreciate, being able to set, check and activate our floor heater from anywhere in the world. The heat comes up quickly through the 3/8" hardwood and the energy use seems minimal. The comfort is exquisite. The thermostat monitors the usage. Ot appears we will use about 100kwh on our 3000 watt installation for December. We run at 72 degrees for 8 hours morning and evening and let it coast midday. That's two rooms for $8 a month in our area in winter. If your doing a floor anyway I'd strongly urge you to consider doing this.

You’ll still need to hire (or be) an electrician. Read ALL instructions. But my floors are WARM :)
Easy to put down, but instructions were incomplete. You really need to buy - AND OPEN - a thermometer that works with these and read both instructions. We watched YouTube videos and *still* missed a step. We are now trying to figure out how to get the thermometer sensor under the flooring that’s already laid down. Unless you are an electrician, plan on hiring one to hook the wires up to your electrical panel. Works like a charm, however, and I love having warm floors. This will be great when winter comes.

Good Product, terrible support.
Five stars for the value and quality. Zero stars for customer support - the woman I spoke with over the phone was awful to deal with. I probably wont purchase from them again.

Great product, greater service
I installed 4 3x10 mats to heat my home office, which is in a basement on a concrete slab. Initially I had issues with the thermostat GFCI tripping. I contacted MP Global, who makes these mats, and received the best support I've ever received from a manufacturer. After sending me a new thermostat to try, they ended up recommending their "Quietboard" underlayment instead of the originally-purchased "Quietwalk" underlayment. I did have to pull up my floor to replace the underlayment, but luckily it was a floating floor so I was able to re-use my flooring material. MP Global made it right with me for my trouble, and the extra effort was absolutely worth it as the new setup works without issue. It keeps this basement office at comfortable 73 degrees in a midwest winter. Key takeaway: use the Quietboard underlayment if you're installing on concrete to avoid any issues with humidity/moisture tripping the thermostat sensitive GFCI.

From Disappointed to Exceptional!
Updated Review: Pleasantly surprised. I had a few issues in the beginning, but after speaking with customer service at QuietWarmth, I’ve learned quite a few tips. Make sure your voltimeter or multimeter is correctly set depending on the mat being tested. This was a key tip in my installation. Everything else was perfect once I adjusted my settings. Thank you QuietWarmth! The floor is great! Original Review: I didn’t like that I received 4 mats that didn’t pass the quality resistance tests. The latest replacement was cut and punctured. Clearly, someone else returned it. I’m hoping this isn’t a sign of what’s to come.

Heat up really slow
It heats up really slow comparing to other brands that I purchased directly overseas.

Works Great!
I installed a whole system of this quiet warmth in my Colorado Mountain Home. Pretty big system about 15 of these Quiet warmth mats. I have to say they work brilliantly! I ripped out a bunch of ugly baseboard heaters and replace them with these mats under engineered hardwood flooring and so far so good. Hope they hold up the 25-years they claim to. I followed the instructions to a T. I took a fair bit of time running all the wires make sure everything was flat and smooth but it is paying off. I used enough of these that I'm Heating an entire first floor of a house in the mountains in the winter.

Floating floors are tough to heat reliably
Put 4 mats under my new floating floor. After a month I got the dreaded ground fault when I would walk in a certain area. Tested all for resistance and sure enough 1 mat had a measurable resistance to ground. Disabled that one. I though I was very careful, clean and precise with install but now I am down heating capacity. I think this may be due to the wire and connection point thickness. I don't think this is a failure in the product so much as just floating floors by design move around and need to sit perfectly flat. Try to keep wire run at the edge of the room as floating floors will not want to sit flat and will get crushed when walked on. I trenched the concrete sub floor slightly to avoid that but still wasn't enough. Heat output is nice but I wouldn't consider it a primary source for cold climates. Just adds comfort when it's 20 degrees outside. If I had to do it again, probably would have left the old reliable electric baseboard in place and delt with the cold floor. These systems are luxurious but expensive and add complexity. I could take the floor back apart and fix it but I'm probably not going to now that the room is done and being lived in.
