+ arrived in perfect shape + smells really nice (typical seaweed smell) + looks good and itโs properly dried + rehydrate really quickly and you can store unused rehydrated wakame in fridge + good taste and texture, I love to add it to miso soup

This is good quality seaweed. It adds a subtle flavor when used well. It rehydrates within 10 minutes. The packaging is nice, keeps it fresh after multiple uses. Seaweed is actually a very healthy ingredient that I can now consume because of this product. Recommended!

I wanted to have seaweed soup after watching kdramas. It is quite expensive given the amount. But you need about one tablespoon (not a heaping tbsp) for one portion. I suggest you take out little and put it into water and see how much it rises. If it's less then you can add more. So don't rehydrate a lot in one go. You can store the extra in the fridge but it may affect the taste and texture of it. For the first timers, it can taste pretty weird. It's almost like uncooked fishy taste. But I guarantee you can work with it. The secret is soy sauce. I only made soup so I can write the recipe here. Chop all vegetables(like potatoes, carrots, cabbage etc) and boil them. Then add rehydrated seaweed, miso paste, soy sauce, salt to taste and boil for a few minutes. And that's pretty much it. Soy sauce is the important ingredient. If you don't add it the fishy taste will be very prominent. I can't comment on its authenticity because I have never had authentic seaweed soup but if you are curious then I think it's a good choice.
