Fig Trees Chicago Hardy Includes Four (4) Plants with 4 Hello Organics Plant Tags

These starters are healthy, well packaged are three out of four are doing great. The one that isn’t doing good was because I went out of town and it wasn’t watered as well. I’ve been looking for the “Chicago” fig for quite a while, since I believe it will do best here in Oklahoma (zone 7). If I baby them as indoor potted trees, I believe they will do fine. It’s worth the price, and for the care and healthy plants recieved, it’s worth the purchase. Summer of 2025 and my seedlings are about 3feet tall. They stayed healthy and really hoping to get some fruit this year. By December of 2025 I have three Chicago Hardy trees planted still and growing prolifically, and each tree made fruit! I was so happy! Next Spring they should bear fruit in the Spring as well as the Fall before winter frosts sends them back into hibernation. I live in the middle of Oklahoma and have tried several other fig trees over the years with no luck. Give Chicago Hardy fig trees a try, the fruits are a little smaller but it’s worth it to finally have figs. Much love to all you gardeners 🙏🥰💙🦋🌈🌎🌀

These were well watered, but the little containers were just crammed with circling roots (a potential death sentence for a tree). Do you know how long it takes for a three-inch twig to grow into a tree? Lots of time. The plants lost their leaves within a couple of days, and a few of them turned black, apparently dead. I asked for a refund, and I was actually required to return the darned things, black stinky roots and all. That surprised and annoyed me because I had to drive across town to the USPS, which is how they wanted it returned. I won't buy from this company again.

The four small fig trees looked frangible on the day they arrived our home (2019-06-04). I transplanted them to half gallon pots on the same day and placed them in our garden. Unfortunately, overnight, wild animal bit off the heads of two trees to the ground. I then moved all four trees on my deck to avoid further damages and watered them daily. About a week later, the headless trees surprised me with green sprouts. The undamaged ones grew vigorously and enticed me to take a picture (2019-07-07). In early September, their beautiful green branches were turning brown, becoming woody, and telling me to plant them in the ground. I also noticed the appearance of pea-sized figs, but I pinched them off because they would have insufficient time to ripen. This winter will test their hardiness in Pennsylvania. 2020-04-09 - Not one of the fig trees I planted last September shows any sign of life. Two were decapitated probably by wild animals; the other two, simply dried wood. Nevertheless, I plan to buy and grow them again this year.

Three of the four survived transplant into pots; will know over time how many will thrive.

VERY SAD, 3 YEARS NO FRUIT.

These did better than more mature grown ones I've bought at Home Depot in the past. They lived over the winter and hopefully at one point will be big strong trees that I can keep alive.

So they arrive healthy but tiny. I transplanted them into a 4" x 4" pot with half peat potting soil & half vermiculite. Drainage is VERY IMPORTANT. I placed one plant spike feeder in each pot and put them under a grow lux LED light of 1200 LUMENS. In one week they had doubled their size. In two weeks they doubled their size again and I transplanted them into the 1 gallon containers and put them on the south side of the house to harden them off for winter. I know it will be a few years before I get any figs. I also knew they would arrive in their tiny size, BUT they grow very fast, they are very healthy and as long as you don't over water them, they will grow. I will buy from this vendor again!

When I ordered this plant, I thought I was getting a real plant not just seedlings ready to start growing. Would not recommend this product.
