Tried one like this and it won’t charge makita power tools does anyone know if this will

Should be fine as long as your charger has a standard 13amp UK 3 pin plug, All it does is convert 16amp 'commando' extension or socket to 13amp 3 pin. Just a point in passing, mine is a super tight fit and I have to ensure it is pushed all the way in to female connector to get a contact.

Not working on arrival, live wire not connected

Works fine once i'd wired it up. Given the crimp was unmarked it had never been wired. Not ideal having loose wires in there when it's sold as ready to use.
