Teslong 5.5mm Slim Probe Two-Way Articulating Borescope for Automotive

Great articulating borescope and a very good value for the price. The 5.5mm camera is very slim, which allows it to fit through almost all spark plug holes and makes it great for checking cylinder walls, valves, and other tight areas. The picture quality is good, the camera works nicely, and the articulation makes a huge difference compared to a normal fixed borescope since you can actually look around inside the cylinder instead of only seeing straight ahead. Overall, it seems to hold up well as long as you use it properly and don’t abuse the articulating end. My only complaint is that I wish they included attachments like a hook or magnet for this slim model like they do with some of the thicker models. For the price, though, it’s a great value and much more useful than a basic non-articulating borescope.

Was skeptical at first about this borescope, but once I received it and used it for the first time I was definitely impressed by it. Decent quality overall but very clear at about 1 1/2" to 6" which is going to be the range that you're going to be using this the most. I have been most impressed by the articulating head which comes in handy all the time with the ability to look 180° from the approach angle is especially useful. The light is plenty bright for use in most situations. The 6' cable length is perfect for most jobs. You are able to take pictures and videos with it which makes showing the customer the problem easier. One of my more recent diagnosis I was able to preform because of this was a cracked cylinder wall in a block on a engine that was having misfiring issues, being able to go into the cylinder, see the crack, take pictures, and show the customer all witout taking the engine apart is a huge gamechanger. Functionality is great for most automotive and maintenance work. Good value at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing a borescope.

Failed in less than a year I bought this Teslong 5.5mm Slim Probe Two-Way Articulating Borescope on December 1, 2025. I used it fewer than 10 times for only two diagnostic projects. Less than a year later, the display developed severe image distortion: hundreds of thin vertical lines cover the screen, along with horizontal bands and distorted colors. The actual camera image is almost completely obscured, making the borescope unusable. This is completely unacceptable durability for a diagnostic tool that was barely used. I expected a product like this to last for years, not fail after fewer than 10 uses. Purchased: December 1, 2025 Usage: Fewer than 10 times Failure: Severe display distortion; unusable image Very disappointing. I cannot recommend this product.

I work on fleet vehicles for my profession. Use it to check down in cylinders, under dash, tight engine bays,etc... Great picture quality. But I noticed even with powered off you can still control camera movement with the joystick. Maybe screen just goes to sleep but I always have to charge it before I am able to use it. Even so overall it is a Great product for the price.

This company deserves a mention. I rarely if ever leave a review. I ordered this product last week. It appeared to be a very high quality instrument. I was extremely impressed with the case and the box it came in. The image quality was amazing! However, the next time I went to use it the camera no longer worked!! I called the company to try and understand how you can make such a beautiful instrument and have the camera no work in the second use. My call was immediately picked up by a real person who was very knowledgeable and sincere. He said it happened due to a bad batch of camera sensors and a recall was being made. I was so impressed that I got to speak to a caring, understanding and intelligent person who cares about the company and its customers. I immediately returned the product to Amazon and received a new product the very next day!! I have the utmost confidence now in the product and the company 😄

This borescope is way better than I expected for the price. The resolution is excellent, the light adjustment is spot-on, and for automotive use it does everything you actually need. Don’t get fooled by all those “360° rotation” gimmicks on expensive scopes — none of the cheap ones truly look backward a full circle anyway. This one realistically gives you about 180° backward view, and that’s more than enough to inspect valves and see exactly what you need inside the cylinder. For automotive work, this scope is absolutely enough — you won’t miss anything. No need to overpay hundreds of dollars. In a shop environment, a scope like this usually lasts a year or two under heavy use. And honestly, that’s the smart way to do it — buy this one, use the hell out of it, and in two years pick up whatever new tech hits the market, instead of dropping $500+ on something that’ll be outdated anyway and you’ll hate replacing. Great tool, great value, perfect for real-world automotive diagnostics.

I'm very impressed with this scope. It has endless uses, sleek, slick, just what the doctor ordered. I had straight A's on college electronics and computer engineering (3.98 GPA) and compared with the professional field, this scope speaks volumes. Like mentioned, it has endless uses. I own a machine shop, race cars, restore vintage cars, trucks, motorcycles, antiques, endless interests. And it's awesome for scoping the rifle. I'm a professional Olympic style shooter, ambidextrous, and some of my high $$ Olympic match air rifles deserve a quality scope. Quality speaks for itself. Extremely durable, picture quality, super easy to use and charge via USB. I doubt you'll find a better rifle scope than this one, for the money. Great for looking inside pipes for weld inspection, metallurgical inspections, the list goes on. I think you'll be pleased with this fabulous scope.

So I bought this to suss out an oil leak. Found the oil leak, a leaking timing chain cover in the rear of the engine. Bummer. However, this awesome bore scope really saved the day in terms of me NOT having to pay a mechanic to suss it out. Since then I have used it almost weekly to suss out other issues, including home problem (found a dead mouse stuck in a vent pipe, damn we could have died from the backed up gas). So really, all I can say is not only has this bore scope paid for itself multiple times over, but maybe even saved our lives. So if you need one, get this one, extremely dependable and accurate and makes really crisp clear images and video. Well Done !!

The articulating borescope from Teslong is a useful tool for a number of tasks. We have a fifth wheel that the welds in the hitch failed a couple of years ago. The issue was fixed and I was assured it would never be a problem again. This tool gave me a way to check that. The articulating capability of this probe is excellent, and it makes it much easier to get a look at what you want to see (in my case the welds - see photos). I also found a bit of a surprise in the overhang (photos). The borescope comes with a semi-hard padded nylon case, a USB A to USB C cable for charging/image transfer, some alcohol pads for cleaning camera and an instruction manual. This camera produces FHD pictures and HD videos. It is quite easy to use. The picture trigger is underneath the unit and I found myself hunting for it a few times to take a picture. It is quite small, but after using this for a while it will become easier to find I am sure. There are three zoom settings on the camera which is handy. The light on the end also has three different brightness settings plus off. The monitor came with a 32GB TF card pre-installed and formatted so it was ready to go out of the box. Photos and videos can be transferred easily by connecting the monitor directly to the computer through its USB port, or by placing the card in a card reader. The camera has ample battery life (can run for up to 3 hours), and takes approximately the same amount of time to charge. It is light weight and easy to hold in one hand while you manipulate/feed the probe with the other. Using your thumb on the slider of the monitor you can change where the camera is pointed (large range of motion at 230 degrees). It does a good job of staying where you set it. The screen resolution is not as high as some of their other scopes, but it works well enough to get he photos/videos you want for close inspection later on a bigger screen. The probe is also permanently attached to this monitor so you do not have the flexibility to change to different probes, but that is because it has the additional feature of articulating. There is value here at that price for an articulating scope that has a relatively small size at 0.21" so it will be able to get into some pretty tight spaces.

L’embout est très fin, ce qui permet d’accéder facilement à des espaces très étroits, et la qualité de l’image est vraiment excellente, nette et bien contrastée. Mais ce qui fait toute la différence, c’est la possibilité de plier l’embout à 180, il suffit ensuite de faire tourner manuellement la gaine pour obtenir une vue à 360°, ce qui rend l’exploration bien plus simple et précise. Cela permet de tout inspecter sans avoir à forcer ou repositionner l’outil en permanence. Un outil vraiment bien conçu, très pratique à utiliser, et qui inspire confiance. Je recommande sans hésiter !
