Sharp, beautiful and reasonable knife. Recommended!
Great quality knife with a very reasonable price. I used this knife a few times and served sashimi at dinner parties and the experience has been brilliant. It is sharp and easy to handle, and the weight on the hand is just right and enough to help cut sashimi easily. You cannot even compare it with a normal cooking knife. I used it on variety of fish and the knife worked great on every kind of fish and I could slice them nicely and effortlessly. It came in a beautiful sturdy box where you can store the knife and that was a plus. I never knew that quality knife can make such difference when cooking. I certainly recommend this knife for anyone who is looking for their first sashimi sushi knife!

Excellent lnife
I normally do not write reviews, however, this knife is perfect for my use and is well made. I expected for the price the blade to be thin and flimsy, I was surprised with the solid strong ridged blade and comfortable handle all indicating excellent craftsmanship. The attachment is excellent and sturdy. My application requires the bevel on one side and was a major factor in my decision. I chose correctly a d this knife is well beveled and is VERY sharp. My use has shown the knife holds the edge well and maintains a good curl tying surface with use. The storage box is nice and protects the knife from damage when stored. One can spend far more money for an equivalent, however the value is here in this ergonomically designed tool. I am not. A beginner and find it excellent for my uses. A engineer wil get good life from thsi knife and the superior craftsmanship will make a long life even with errors beginners make. A beginner will also be using the knife for longer periods of time and the ease of use and holding makes this knife a plus. I am a happy customer and am sure you will en with your purchase. The price is excellent for entry knife and suitable for be gunners and more advanced users alike.

The right tool for the job!
After receiving this most excellent Lucky Cook Sushi knife as a Christmas gift I was very eager to try my hand and creating my own sushi at home. The experience went wonderfully! After watching many videos on sushi making and the importance of having the right equipment I now fully understand how correct that suggestion is. The Lucky Cook knife came beautifully boxed and looked very impressive. It is so incredibly sharp and very well balanced. I made spicy tuna rolls and this knife made the task of mincing the tuna a breeze. So little effort was required to quickly turn a half pound block of tuna into finely minced pieces. The rolling of the sushi was done easily and where this knife really shined was the cutting of the rolls into bite sized pieces. The length and sharpness of this knife really made cutting through the rolls a very easy process. The weight of the knife alone with the finely honed edge made drawing the blade through the sushi a quick and precise process. As a beginner at sushi making I can only say that this knife made what seemed to be a very intimidating project into a very satisfying and delicious experience! It is so true that having the right equipment for the task is of utmost importance and as far as the preparation of sushi is concerned you will certainly not be disappointed with the purchase of a Lucky Cook sushi knife.

Fantastic Knife! If only the bolster wasn't plastic...
Firstly, let me preface with the fact that I've probably subjected this knife to more use and abuse than what normal users might. I bought this knife after a long day at work as a sushi roller for a local restaurant because the standard kitchen chef knives that my work has available easily dull and hold an edge as if they used aluminum foil in a Damascus knife... All of that being said, THIS knife holds an edge!!! When I bought it, I was looking for an affordable high-carbon blade. In my experience, high-carbon blades are extremely sharp, hold the best edges (aka they don't dull easily), and are also easily sharpened. This knife met all of those wickets... The quality of the knife is remarkable for the price. It is by far the sharpest knife that I currently own. The only thing that I wish more from it is a better quality bolster. The knife and handle are of superb quality, but the bolster holding the two together is of simple plastic. As such, the plastic is beginning to crack under the routine pressures of butchering cuts of fish, slicing cuts of nigiri and sushi rolls. I do plan on repairing the blade and bolster when the plastic does eventually crack... otherwise I would rate it the full 5 instead of 4.

Great knife for sushi or slicing!
I recently took a class on making sushi and needed to get the right tools in order to successfully execute in my kitchen at home. In doing the research, I ordered the Lucky Cook Sashimi Sushi 10-inch knife and am very pleased with the quality and performance. It comes carefully packaged in a box that I use for storing it in, along with a plastic knife protector tip cover which is adds protection to both the knife blade tip and for the safety of the chef. In addition, as stated it is engraved with a unique serial number. I have made sushi a total of 6 sushi rolls so far, and it cuts with precision through the roll using standard sushi chef instructions such as keeping the the knife clean and slightly damp between cuts. I imagine it will work well in slicing vegetables and other meats too. This is a very good choice for the value and I recommend it.

The knife performs and feels great!!!!
I just want to say that so far this knife has exceeded my pre receiving expectations. I have ordered knifes online before and have been let done many a times. But I like to gamble with online knifes because I have found some gems that I use on a daily now. I work for one of the largest catering company’s in San Francisco so I’m constantly using and lending out my knifes. Due to the high volume and harsh conditions I don’t bring the fancy knifes out but I have found to like I said gems that do the job just as good as the fancy ones. Thus the sashimi knife from lucky cooks has found a place in my chef roll. The box it came in to Begin with was pretty F***ing nice to be honest, the presentation was great as well. The knife itself is very sharp out the box and has a good balance to it. It doesn’t feel heavy considering the size of the knife. I did give it a once over on a wet stone but I do that to all new knifes. As for slicing, it’s a smooth single action which is what I look for. It’s also a hit with some of other chefs and Linecook’s I work with. Whom are going to be ordering some themselves.

Buy this!
As a new, but passionate lover of Japanese and Eastern cuisine in general, I bought this knife to help me in (beginner, I admit) work on the preparation of Japanese delicacies, sushi and others. The knife is excellent, very high quality workmanship and design. The hand is adapted to the fist, and the blade is sharp and really great. I don't know much about sushi delicacies, but with this knife it became really interesting and easy for me. Purchase recommendations.

Great blade
Great knife to use for slicing sushi. It's very sharp and glides through both rice and/or seaweed paper like it's butter. So satisfying.

Great for Sushi
Bought it to cut sushi. I was using a block and this knife is too thick to use with it. But you do not need to use a block as it cuts the sushi roll without any effort. Tried to cut home made bread with in a bread cutting block but not great outcome. So I will keep it for Sushi making only
