Introduction to Magnetic Materials, 2nd Edition covers the basics of magnetic quantities, magnetic devices, and materials used in practice. While retaining much of the original, this revision now covers SQUID and alternating gradient magnetometers, magnetic force microscope, Kerr effect, amorphous alloys, rare-earth magnets, SI Units alongside cgs units, and other up-to-date topics. In addition, the authors have added an entirely new chapter on information materials. The text presents materials at the practical rather than theoretical level, allowing for a physical, quantitative, measurement-based understanding of magnetism among readers, be they professional engineers or graduate-level students. Review: Good Materials Science Primer - I highly recommend this text because of it's scientific approach to a traditional engineering and materials science field. One can understand how the various theories and equations came about, and maybe how the current understanding is inadequate or falls short. This text is the best one yet I've read that describes crystal grains and domains, and how they transform. I think anyone who interested in learning materials science and metal alloys should read this text. Anyone with a good grounding of college-level general physics and general chemistry will benefit from this text. Review: Very fast shipping.Good text. - Very fast shipping.Good text for beginners .enhances your knowledge of magnetism .a must have text for a condensed matter physicists.
