Does the sunroof moon roof motor bb5z-15790-a fits my 2006 toyota avalon

Dear customer, this is compatible with Ford Explorer.

What is the initialization proceedure?

I believe it depends on the year of the car. For my car these motors doesn't work. I tried everything and couldn't get the roof to work correctly. I brought the OEM model, installed it and it worked straight away. Personally I wouldn't bother with these motors. I now have two of them sat in my garage being used has paper weights :)

Will this replacement work for both the passenger and driver side motor?

Will work for either side. However after 3 hours of tearing apart my wife’s Explorer trying to get to the motor and then replacing it with this… it still would not function. Seems there is way more than just replacing a motor. You have to adjust it and heaven help you if you get it out of alignment. You’ll never get it closed let alone functioning. Trading my Explorer in as is later this summer for a Palisade Caligraphy.
