BMW Wheel Cleaner Gel

The Super Hero. You know that symbiotic relationship between superheroes and supervillains? How they are mortal enemies of one another and are not complete without the other? That's what the relationship between this cleaner and brake dust/road grime has become for my car. (2011 BMW 335d M-Sport) This stuff is kinda magical. Maybe it works the magic when it changes colors from light blue to dark purple as the cleaning action takes place? Don't know. But one thing I DO know: this stuff strips brake dust & road grime off rims like nothing I have ever used in 36 years of taking care of my cars. I'm not going to buy anything else ever again. If I remember, maybe next time I will show some before/during/after pictures, but I think some other reviewers have done this already. You won't regret buying this. But if for some insane reason you DO regret it, sell it to me PLEASE !!

I was skeptical. I talked to a BMW parts rep prior to buying this on Amazon. He did not recommend any other wheel cleaners claiming that they would eventually wear down the finish on the wheel. He said that this wheel cleaner was the least harmful and did a pretty good job. Shipping from the BMW dealership was outrageous so I bought it on Amazon, with Prime a no-brainer. Well, I have to say that I was impressed by this product. Following the directions, I sprayed it on my very dirty 335i wheels and let it sit for about 5 minutes. It turned purple as stated in the instructions and I mean, the two front wheels were purple; the back not so much. Obviously, the cleaner reacts with the brake dust. I went through the car was; no additional wheel service and wow, cleaner than I ever expected. This cleaner took 99% of the brake dust and dirt off without any scrubbing on my part. Highly recommend trying this product!

I rated 4 star only because it's a bit pricey, but everything for a BMW is. This product does a great job on the wheels, I spray on before going through the carwash, let is sit for a few minutes. The wheels come out great, best product I've found. Will purchase again when needed.

The product worked very well to clean winter wheels that had not been cleaned in years. The only drawback is that the spray bottle only applied in a stream; maybe because the cleaner is a gel and could be difficult to spray. I spread it around and agitated it with a toothbrush. The product removed residue that car wash solution and scrubbing could not remove. A tiny bit of the build up still remained in the crevices after cleaning, but the wheels had been neglected for years prior to using this product. Overall, I was pleased with this product.

Made cleaning the wheels so much easier. Turned purple, rinsed-had to scrubs some pectins per wheel, but can’t imagine how much more effort would’ve had to do without this product

This works! Sprays in a stream with limited coverage so I moved the bottle quickly while spraying and used a thin wheel cleaner brush to apply to the entire wheel. By the time I worked my way around to all four wheels (5 minutes) the first two had changed to a dark red color just that quickly and were ready for rinsing. I have a very nice Craftsman pressure washer that I set to delicate and flushed the cleaner off with no need for additional scrubbing or wiping other than the areas I missed. Real time saver and next time I will be able to apply with more knowledge to limit missed areas. Wheel look great and shinny - Ordering another bottle now.

Con: fingers get tired easily when using spray bottle! Small "jet" like stream when squeezing handle. No option for "spray". That being said, this is magic! My rims and inner rims were black! Spray on with nice coat of the gel cleaner, allow it to change colors (you know its done self cleaning when color chanes) Simple easy wipe off with no elbow grease (always looking for an easier non laborus way..hehe) and spray off ! Magic! Recommendation: make bottle with ability to SPRAY the cleaning gel, not a "jet" stream. Would I buy again? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Need to get more now!

Works really well for the most part. However, I was disappointed that some of the stains did not come off. I bought my BMW M3 used and I believe the stains were already on the rims. Even though my rims are very clean after using this product, those persistent stains are killing me. For the bulk of the brake dust, you don't even need a brush to get it off. Just rinse this product off and the brake dust will wash right off.
