Does this work for misquitoes and gnats?

I’m the first to get bitten by mosquitoes and gnats. This stuff is great, now they bite my husband when I wear it (and he doesn’t).

How strong is the vanilla scent? I get headaches from vanilla candles so didn't want to waste money purchasing if this smells strongly of vanilla.

I am not sensitive to vanilla, so I am not sure this will be helpful. I would not think of vanilla as the predominant scent for this product. The one that comes through most for me is a muted mint-y fragrance. Something else with it, but for me it doesn't come across as vanilla! I use this on my face, neck, arms, legs-- it works amazingly well and I don't find the smell offensive or distracting.
