Dive Mount - Mask Strap Action Camera Mount

It gets the job done & allows me to buy whatever mask I want.

I ordered this primarily to let me document dives hand-free without worrying about handling a camera during the dive. I have since taken it on two dives and am very satisfied with how it has performed. I was concerned that it might not fit on the right side using the GoPro Protective Housing (Hero 9, 10, 11, 12), as the product description clearly states that it only fits on the right side viewed from your front (or your left side from your perspective). This would mean it would have to go on my left, where I usually have my snorkel. However, I was pleasantly pleased to discover that it actually fits on either side. With the housing mounted on the right side, there is no access to the side button, but because the GoPro starts recording on power-on, there isn't much need for it. The fit is close, but it isn't actually pushing against the side of the housing, so I'm not concerned about it slowly wearing out due to torquing the mount. The video quality is decent. With the large support, it does not move around much, and the GoPro's built-in stabilization maintains a very stable shot. Because it threads through the mask strap twice, I am not worried at all about it coming loose during a dive. An impact anywhere near hard enough to knock it loose is going to take my whole mask off anyway. So far, I've only worn it over a 7mm hood, but it is quite comfortable. You'll probably forget it is there, which, in my opinion, is half the reason to get this style of mount. I will definitely continue to use this for the foreseeable future.

I purchased this as a way to better focus the GoPro on what I was looking at. I am aware of the other reviews that mentioned part of the mask in the shot. This is true! I have used it on a couple of dive and the stability is pretty great underwater. I have not yet tried to place it on the opposite side but intend to do so. That should eliminate the mask in the corner problem. Once that is fixed, no complaints here. It does feel a little awkward out of the water, but hardly noticed it in the water.

Opened the package to find a sturdy, not cheap looking mount. Read the instructions carefully to ensure proper installation. Took it on a trial run in the pool to test performance. I found it to be quite comfortable, no wobble, no issues whatsoever. Was even happier after first real test. It provides a platform for excellent video/photo shooting because the camera tracks effortlessly with your eyes and at the same time it frees up both hands which I find to be extremely important. Bottom line....easy to install and outperformed my high expectation. HIGHLY recommend

Great idea. Looks sturdy. Gopro seems as if it will not be going ANYWHERE... problem is, that the underwater housing doesn't fit. Look at picture. So you can only dive the mere short distance GOPRO allows you too. So I would NOT recommend this for actual diving. If the arm could be a little longer, then it would be perfect. The picture as well includes the mask. Not a large amount, but I would say about 10pct of the picture on camera is the side of the mask. Comfort wise, it's nothing to brag about. It does dig I to the cheek a little. But it was to be expected. Suction. Doesn't mess with mask at all. Versatility wise... again, it would be great if arm was a little longer, then the mask wouldn't be in picture as much. This product is for the person who likes to swim, not dive.

The mount works great, it is a great video angle for my YouTube channel ,RIBBITT KING, Where I do underwater river cleanup. Other mounts had a lot of bubbles from me diving. This worked great! Comfortable and in the water I forget it's there.

Most divers wear a snorkel on their left side. If you put this on your right side, the camera will capture your mask in the recording and block the on/off button on the side. You will want to put your Gopro in quick start mode so you only hit the top button to start and stop recording. You can mount this in front of your snorkel on your left side. Right side mount didn't work for my Gopro 11 with the waterproof housing.
