Works Great for PC Time Sync
I'm just a PC hobbyist with an irrational interest in network and device time synchronization. All the other GPS time gadgets I've looked up were complicated and very expensive. I plugged this in and used BktTimeSync (Windows) but soon discovered I needed to set the proper COM port. Since Widows decides that, you either need to pay attention to the initial Windows device setup notification or look in Device Manager for "Ports (COM & LPT)" and under that, "USB Serial Device (COMX)". The proper COM port will be displayed there in place of the "X". Once I set the COM port in BktTimeSync it immediately synced the PC's time with GPS. I was surprised since I was testing it in the basement which was dumb, but instructional since it worked. So, curiosity has been rewarded. It's quite redundant since NTP is so reliable (called "Internet Time" in Windows) but it's calming to know that my PC network will have accurate time during the inevitable zombie apocalypse (at least until all the satellites die).

Works good
Bought it for a Linux laptop to do offline gos mapping and it works great. No complaints. Well worth the money. Love the magnet base as well. Smaller than I thought, in a good way. Cord is just the right length though.

Victron cerbo plug and play
Added this to my victron cerbo to track my rv. It is plug and play and works from inside the trailer. Adding this allows me to see wjere the rv is and provide a solar forcast for my area.

Ok for positioning, not great for time
For the price, this does a reasonable job of resolving your position using GPS. As you can see from the image, when this puck is stationary, it always reports that it is in motion. From my testing, this behavior does not settle to near zero or zero, it simply continues to show movement when there is none. I also did a significant amount of testing to see if it could resolve GPS time as well as or better than NTP. My testing shows that it does a far worse job at resolving time than NTP. I would not recommend buying this if that is your goal. Oddly enough, while putting this outside does improve the S/N ratio, and allows it to see and use many more satellites, it actually makes time resolution worse. The graph you see here is the best case scenario I found for timing, which was when the GPS Dongle was sitting on my couch. I'm still rating this a 4 out of 5 because it was fun to tinker with at a low price point, but I would not use it for anything critical.

Perfect Solution To Keep My PC Clock Synced Automatically
I need to maintain my PC clock accuracy to better than 1 second for certain digital modes in my ham radio setup. Manually syncing only works with an internet connection, which I may not have when operating in the field, and would need to be done repeatedly during the day. This dongle along with a free app called GPS2Time syncs my PC clock automatically as often as once a minute, using the GPS satellite time signals. It's a great plug-and-play solution. And I like having the long USB cable so I can move the GPS unit close to a window when I'm using it at my house. I got 10 satellites when operating indoors about a foot from a window. Pretty amazing!

Not for Windows 8!
This works with Windows 11, but not Windows 8. Stratux - the maker - has a pdf guide on their web site. It directs you to a u-blox web site for drivers. The u-blox site says "Page not found" after following the link. It seems to connect and receive very well though in Windows 11.

Works
Works with openCPN. Not very intuitive to use if you're not tech savy. I had to fumble a while online and watch video to understand how to set it up. No explanation come with it.

Works nice
Plugged it into a linux laptop, made sure I had gpsd installed, and then checked with gpsmon. It quickly fixed to a few satellites and the location was correct.
