Gentle Hydrating Shampoo

CeraVe is a brand I’ve trusted for a long time, and this gentle hydrating shampoo did not disappoint. Like their skincare products, this shampoo focuses on a simple, well-balanced formula that works effectively without being harsh. The price is reasonable, and the quality is consistently reliable. After washing, my scalp feels very clean and refreshed, not tight or dry. It cleanses well without stripping, and my hair feels soft and comfortable afterward. I especially appreciate that it’s fragrance-free and sulfate-free, which makes it suitable for regular use and for sensitive scalps. The texture is smooth, lathers gently, and rinses out easily. It doesn’t leave any residue, and my scalp feels light and fresh throughout the day. For everyday washing, this shampoo fits perfectly into my routine. Overall, this is a solid shampoo from a brand that delivers good results at an affordable price. I would definitely repurchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a gentle, effective, and trustworthy option.

Honestly really impressed with the quality of this shampoo for the price. It’s so silky soft, lathers so well, makes my scalp feel hydrated and clean, is fragrance free so non irritating, and leaves my hair feeling soft and clean. Couldn’t ask anymore from a shampoo that’s priced so well!

I picked up this CeraVe Gentle Hydrating Shampoo because my scalp gets dry easily and a lot of shampoos feel too stripping with regular use. After using it consistently, I’m really happy with how it performs. The formula is lightweight and easy to work through the hair, even though it doesn’t lather aggressively. It cleans well without that squeaky, dried-out feeling afterward. My hair feels soft, smooth, and comfortable once it’s dry, and my scalp doesn’t feel tight or irritated like it sometimes does with other shampoos. There’s no strong scent, which I appreciate, especially if you’re sensitive to fragrance or prefer something neutral. It also pairs well with other conditioners and styling products without causing buildup. Doesn’t cause excessive shine. Haven’t noticed any hair growth from this product but it’s doesn’t claim to increase growth. This is a great everyday shampoo if you want something gentle, moisturizing, and low-maintenance. If you’re looking for heavy clarifying or lots of foam, this may not be the best fit — but for keeping hair clean and healthy without dryness, it does exactly what it promises.

Does a good job removing product buildup and oil! No itchiness or irritation on my scalp and the skin on my chest/ back tolerate it as well. I get that "squeaky clean" feeling on my hair if I shampoo twice, which is nice but I do think the hair tends to tangle more even with my regular conditioner. Decently color-safe-- definitely still get some color with the rinse-out, but it's not too bad. The scent isn't great-- kind of sunscreenish and weird, but it doesn't linger after I rinse it out. Overall, for the price, it's a good shampoo.

I’m very pleased with this shampoo. It’s effective by adding hydration and moisture to my gray and thin hair. The ingredients are gentle, dermatologist approved and it works. It has a mild, pleasant fragrance and my hair feels clean, soft and healthy. Great product at a great price.

Wow! Saved my scalp and hair! I have 1/2a/2b hair—fine, medium density, low porosity, and protein sensitive, with a very sensitive scalp. I used to use Head & Shoulders (I tried everything they offer) or Dove’s Dryness & Itch Relief dandruff shampoo. Both contain zinc pyrithione, and heavy-handed synthetic-smelling fragrance. Yuck. They both also left this gross residue on my hair, where my hair felt both dry and greasy. Double yuck. And my head would still get itchy by the next day! Triple yuck! So... not exactly a win-win for any part of my head. But I'd tried so many shampoos and these were the best options :( On the other hand, this CeraVe Hydrating Shampoo is fragrance-free, doesn’t contain zinc pyrithione and leaves my scalp itch-free all day, every day (!!!) and my hair clean and bouncy. I don’t know how they did it, but I’m so grateful!!! 🙏 You have no idea. I was going insane trying to find something that would work for me. I tried SO MANY shampoos and conditioners. I thought Target was going to ban me from how many I had tried and returned. CeraVe also worked well in both hard and soft water for me. Obviously it performed better in soft water, but in hard water I successfully paired it with a clarifying shampoo and chelator (as needed): L’Oréal’s Hard Water Clarifying Shampoo and MalibuC Hard Water packets. I had to be careful with that combo though. It did a great job at stripping my hair clean, but if I used it too often, it absolutely wrecked my scalp. I now have softened water, and I pair the CeraVe shampoo with L'Oreal's Curl Conditioner or L'Oreal's Restore Conditioner (aka their hard water conditioner) and that's been working very well for me. If I need to clarify every so often, I just shampoo twice with the CeraVe shampoo, and that does the trick. Anywho, I recommend giving this shampoo a shot! Hope it works for you too! And CeraVe.... DO NOT STOP MAKING THIS AND DO NOT CHANGE THE FORMULA.

Everything made by this brand is always high quality. I chose the shampoo in the matching conditioner because I have an adult in the house with psoriasis. I also suffer from eczema. This has been an absolute game changer with the people in my home that use this shampoo and the accommodating conditioner. The only complaint I have heard is that one of my adult children has a hard time spreading it through her thick hair but I have not had that problem and neither have the other people in my home. Dissent is almost immeasurable as it does not have much sent at all. Of course the ladies really want something that smells good, but that's not great necessarily for your skin. This shampoo absolutely cleans my hair extremely well and leaves it feeling very soft which is unexpected because most shampoos do not leave my hair feeling soft. I have naturally curly hair and am Caucasian, the only other shampoo that has left my hair feeling like this is another brand but it is too highly scented and causes me issues. I absolutely love this and highly recommend it! I realize this brand is more expensive but for caring for your skin when you have psoriasis or eczema is more important and this shampoo will take care of you!
