Nokia Lumia 830 Orange Factory Unlocked GSM - International Version

* Summary * the hardware is good, but certain critical apps needed for a person living in China aren't stable and cause the phone to behave erratically. If you live in the states and use windows for work or home, go for it no questions. If you live abroad, test it out and see if the app ecosystem is dependable! I use a windows workstation and wanted a phone for work to help access the information I need out on the job. This phone is faster than the predecessor lumia 520 I owned so I'm grateful for that. Skype works fine, and accessing cloud drive (business and personal) is easy and fast enough. Cortana hasn't been amazing yet, but she has come in useful reading text messages and making appointments in my calendar hands free. I've already dropped it from about 1.5 meters and it held up so it meets the durability test (one drop only so far!). Also, Here Maps are great and anything related to Here in general (driving directions, public transport)! I think that's a big selling point for the phone (thanks Nokia!) My real disappointment with the phone that makes me give it 3 stars instead of 5 is that it can't run WeChat (the main social app in China) as fast as iOS! (I haven't tried an Android for comparison). When I use WeChat, it frequently cuts out, freezes, alters the sound/microphone settings, and overall just makes the phone unstable. If WeChat worked, I would give it close to 4 stars~~~ If other apps that are frequently used in China were to work more seamlessly with the phone, I would give it 5 stars!

Phone is great but will not get LTE on T-Mobile this is the RM-984 not an RM-985

The shipment arrived in 3 weeks -- a week earlier than specified when i placed the order. It was packed well and looked authentic -- really brand new and not a pre-owned one. The battery was taped where it meets the contacts to prevent discharging prior to use. So one has to remove the small cellophane tape and the phone is good to go. I've had it for a little over a week on T-mobile. So far it looks to be in good order -- a great, sleek looking and feeling phone with a very fine finish. I've seen no problems in the display, speed or over heating. However, the battery consumption appears to be higher than I expected. I'm a light user of the phone, using it only for the occassional phone call -- one every 2 days, very rare texting of short 1 line messages, the HERE maps and email. Yet, it uses up 35% of the battery in a day! I can't tell that the display resolution is not high; i don't play games or watch streaming video. The response of the phone is fast and the touch quite sensitive. The Apps available are sufficient for my daily and projected use. So I'm so far happy with this phone. I hope I continue to remain so.

This is a ZERO star phone Worst phone ever, Microsoft support is useless , and the personal at Microsoft stores they look like dumb people getting paid, is just like their web page support, fill all information right and then an error , compared to an original Nokia Symbian, this phone is just to get your money and practically run. -Video camera can't record continuously , it starts skipping , even if is been recorded on the phone memory( not the sd card and just reset to factory) - Photo is not 10 megapixel, is 8 megapixel at 16:9 ratio or 9 at 4:3, and when opening the picture it is slow - Xbox music player is not constant at showing information of my music recorded on my sd card, so I have to guess how to find the song I want to play. -The alarm stops working after 2 or 3 days, everything looks ok, but it just does not work. -App store is very limited, but no wonder nobody wants to make apps for WP, the software is beautiful but functionality of the phone is really bad. If you want to take the risk , take it , hopefully I find another way to get out from iPhone.

This new phone was sent loose in the box, no paper ,for US warranty, just a power cord , I do not think mine was a new phone. the seller never replied. Cannot get the pictures on the memory card on window 8.1 ? disappointed this is my second lumia Nokia I lost the first and I payed more for a second used one. This one gets warm in one corner while charging,

Beautiful phone for a low price, camera is a lot better coming from iphones and recently the nokia lumia 630. Large screen and thin size is awesome. Works with cricket wireless which is a GSM network. Very satisfied with the 830. only thing i dont like was that the charger was for foreign outlets so they had to include a travel charge adapter just so it would work with the normal outlets so it takes a lot of space for a charger but i just use my old 630 charger with the 830 and it still does fine other than that its a great phone

Excellent phone apps need improvement

No LTE, but wife doesn't know the difference, and no noticeable degradation as a result. Comes out of the box in Chinese (Hong Kong locale) language (you can change it to English) and with a Chinese e-reader app that you cannot remove (part of phone ROM image). Charger is also Hong Kong style, you will need a US usb charger adapter to charge in US. Wife loves the phone, came from iPhone 4. Good deal.

Lo tuve que comprar por amazon pues aqui en España me decian que no hay mercado para ellos al ser un SO muy complejo. Bueno, gracias a eso me ha salido mas barato. EL SO, es windows 8.1 que si bien para PC es una tortura, para un telefono es perfecto, sin tener componentes tope de gama (4 nucleos a 1.2, 1 Gb de memoria de sistema + 16 Gb, y no tiene pantalla HD) es el mas rapido que he tenido, mas que IOS y android, con diferencia, el arranque es rapidisimo, y la sensacion de estabilidad es impresionante; No se cuelga, va rapido, mas que un iphone, el diseño es chulisimo. No se echa en falta nada, te hace falta mas memoria ? se le puede poner una micro SD de hasta 164 Gb, las pelis se ven fantasticas, no tiene HD, pero no se llega a apreciar esa falta de pixeles, conectitividad, la que quieras. En definitiva, muy contento con el telefono, estaba harto de iphone y android, y no sin cierto recelo me decante por este, y la verdad, estoy muy gratamente sorprendido. La unica pega es que lo queria con la carcasa naranja pero no quedaban, tuve que conformarme con el negro ;)

Ich mache es sehr kurz für alle die wenig Lust und Zeit zum Lesen haben: Positives: -schnelle Lieferung -Da wir beim Lumia 925 etwas Probleme damit hatten, dass ab und zu das Handy einfach ausgegangen ist und nicht mehr angegangen ist oder es sich ab und zu (aber sehr selten) einfach aufgehängt hat, ist hier schon mal sehr positiv dass man den Akku entnehmen kann. -großes helles Display (allerdings fast etwas zu groß für die 800er-Reihe, aber das ist ja bei neuen Handys normal, dass das Display immer größer wird) -Icons auf Startmenü sind jetzt kleiner sodass man fast alle notwendigen Anwendungen auf die Hauptoberfläche bekommt ohne nach unten zu Scrollen -sehr gute Kamera mit Fotoblitz (aber die ist ja bei Nokia generell nicht von schlechten Eltern) -hochwertiges Design mit Alurahmen Negatives: -Was mich sehr geärgert hat, ist dass man für das Smartphone mittlerweile eine Nano-Sim braucht. Das habe ich beim Kauf nicht bedacht bzw. überlesen. Jetzt mussten wir erst eine Nano-Sim besorgen, wir konnten das Telefon also für die ersten paar Tage gar nicht richtig benutzen. -Es ist zwar gut, dass man das hintere Cover abnehmen kann, allerdings kommt mir das Plastikteil gerade beim wieder einclipsen in das Handy etwas gebrechlich vor. Da bekommt man schon etwas Angst dass man etwas abbricht. Fazit: Ein sehr gutes Handy mit großem Display und edlem Design für einen relativ billigen Preis. Ich habe es beim Cyber Monday Deal gekauft für 312€ in der Farbe orange.

Pues eso es amigos, tiene una conectividad maravillosa, no le falta de nada. Un tamaño de batería aceptable tirando a bien. La cámara principal es maravillosa, sobre todo para fotos apaisadas y lo de guardar dichas fotos en RAW es TOPKEK, la cámara delantera pues meh, cumple porque tiene que estar. He aquí el PERO: los 280€ (que me costaron en su día, ahora son 320) es un poco excesivo para todo el conjunto en si. Sería un poco mas atractivo si no sobrepasase los 250 pero bueh

Leute, ich mache es kurz: Amazon -> 5 Sterne ---------------------------- Wie immer schnell geliefert. Betriebssystem ---------------------------- Ist Geschmacksache. Mir gefällt Windows 8.1 sehr gut und ich würde es immer wieder vor Googles Android oder Apples iOS vorziehen. Das Handy -> 3 Sterne -------------------------------- Das Gerät ist toll verarbeitet, hat ein gut beleuchtetes Display, alles läuft flüssig und jetzt kommt es: der Mobilfunk-Empfang ist NICHT GUT. Beim ersten Gerät dachte ich mir eventuell Produktionsfehler? Also Austausch vorgenommen ( danke Amazon ) und es hat sich gar nichts geändert. Direkter Vergleich mit "Samsung ATIV S".-> Der Empfang im 3g Netz war immer 1 bis 2 Balken schlechter. Rückblickend würde ich mir das SAMSUNG kaufen, aber hinterher ist man immer schlauer. Gruß
