Easy to use and excellent grouting material for paving slabs
I purchased Sika Sand because I was getting fed up with replacing the kiln dried sand each year that lies between the slabs on my patio (the gaps are too narrow and varied in size for me to be able to cement them in permanently). The slabs need to be pressure washed every year to remove algae and dirt and I have to continually weed the area throughout the year afterwards - hopefully, no longer! Coverage was much the same as any kiln dried sand I've used in the past; the sand flowed well and was easy to remove from surfaces before wetting and setting In use, after reading the reviews, I ensured I brushed as much of the sand off the patio paving slabs as I could. I then soaked the entire area thoroughly using a very light sprinkler attached to a hose but without washing out the sand or leaving any puddles. The paving slabs have a riven effect which did hold some water, so I carefully brushed the water off the slabs until they were as dry as possible. The next day there was some very light residue of sand on a few slabs which brushed off easily. 2 weeks later and the grout lines are hard and the finish is very good. I missed a number of small areas (or the sand had washed into voids under the slabs) but I re-did these areas and they're fine now. The cured product is light grey in colour and I used nearly a full bag of sand spread over an area approximately 10x3 metres. Width of gaps was between 2mm and 5mm and quite deep in places - around 10-15mm in places. Overall, although maybe 2-3 times the price of ordinary kiln dried sand, I think Sika Sand is good value. It will save me a lot of time, hard work and money in the future. I can't vouch for the long-term durability of the finish but it looks set for a few years yet. Recommended.

Leaves a firm, solid finish
Nice to use, very fine sand. It has set hard been down several weeks now. The ants have pushed it up in a few places ha & the weeds are still growing through it unfortunately. I did put weed killer down everywhere beforehand. So is disappointing as I'd hoped it would prevent completely. It does leave a slight colour on the bricks, so be careful when using. I took my time & tried to pour it in all the joints. I'd buy again though

Narrow paving joint filler
This product was very easy to lay, sweep into crevices and water in. Hopefully it will stop weeds appearing as it sets hard.

Brilliant product
This product is brilliant. I used it last year and hardly any weeds. Just make sure you clean all excess sand off the block paving otherwise you will not get that sand off. I have purchased another bag just to top up the block paving joints.

Fill joint well.. Stoping weeds from in the gaps but weeds will settle on top after long period.
This stuff Is good at lasting long in the joint as it describe. And does stop weeds from growing in the joint to an extent. But weeds and moss started growing on stop of the join I found after a while. Wouldn’t say it’s worth the price tag. But it’s better than just normal joint sand. Easy to use.

Worked well but with a warning
Used this on a large area of block paving. Very easy to apply, dump a pile on the blocks and using a soft brush sweep forwards and backwards to persuade it into all the cracks. Coverage was excellent on an area of approx 4x10 metres and there was still a reasonable amount left in the bag. Used a hose pipe on fine spray setting to wet afterwards and there was some settling but generally stayed near the top of the cracks. The warning: Our block paving is several years old and was jet washed about 4 years ago and again just before applying the setting sand. Jet washing will wear the surface of the blocks and this opens up pores for the sand to cling to. I had to stand back and look at the area I'd just brushed and vigorously brush any parts that looked like there was a concentration of sand on the surface of the bricks. Even brushing hard did not lift all the sand from the blocks however and there were still areas of paler bricks. I think this was inevitable given the condition of the blocks and although it is obvious I can live with it. I'm hoping with further wear or jet washing this will lift and return all the bricks to a uniform colour. Don't expect perfection, ants lifted some out before it had set properly and there has been one very small weed growing in a crack. There were large areas of significant moss growth in the cracks before I jet washed it and the acid test will be if and how soon this returns. Fingers crossed :)

Best sand for block gaps
Great product, sets well, and looks to have set blocks well, be careful if gaps are small and not put down too much, have finished mine with two coats of sealer and it now looks as good as it was when laid
