Awesome
I’m so glad we decided to make this keepsake while our baby was still tiny. The Luna Bean hand and foot casting kit captured so many little details — even the tiny wrinkles and fingernails. The instructions were easy to follow overall, and the final result turned out incredibly sentimental and special. The molding material set quickly and picked up detail better than I expected. I also appreciated that there was enough material included to retry if needed, which definitely helped take some of the pressure off when working with a wiggly baby. The finished casts look beautiful displayed in our home and feel like something we’ll treasure forever. This would make such a meaningful gift for new parents or baby showers. Definitely worth it for the memories alone.

Great for expecting parents
I bought these while I was pregnant and was worried it would be difficult to use but it’s not bad! I was recommend to do it when your baby is asleep so it’s easier. Directions are straightforward and easy to follow. It’s a great keepsake!

Good product, didn’t work for our baby
I love this in theory but we weren’t able to make it work with my baby. In order to get the mold right the baby needs to stay still for 3-4 min while the mold sets around their hand or foot. We weren’t able to make that happen. Even with trying while they were asleep, the liquid for the mold would wake him up when we put his hand or foot in it. If your baby will stay still longer then this will work great!! I used some leftover material to play with and made a small mold of my hand and it gets a lot of detail and works properly. Just didn’t work for us for the baby specifically as advertised. I would also say it has clear instructions, is easy to use, and is a good value compared to other products I have seen.

I did three of these in one night, and have a few tips for ya: 1. The first mix sets REALLY fast. We ended up having to chuck the first cup because it got chunky while we were still mixing. Mix faster than you think you need to, tap it on the counter a few times to disperse bubbles, and get that baby's hand/foot in there quick! 2. Set about a tablespoon of the casting powder aside for later. 3. Once the hand/foot has been taken out, mix the casting powder almost as fast, tap it on the counter a little bit harder, and then pour it slowly and smoothly to avoid bubbles in the cast. 4. Leave it overnight. Five hours was not enough, it was still very damp and fingers broke off very easily. I ended up putting them in a huge bowl of rice for a day (I'm in florida, so maybe we can blame the humidity - I'm not sure) 5. Once its dry, youll have to use the sandpaper to smooth lots of things out - between the fingers, bumps, etc. I also ended up using a few nail files and a dremel. 6. If you have tiny bubbles on the surface, mix the rest of the casting powder and use a tiny brush to fill them. They will still need to be lightly sanded after they dry. 7. If you are doing multiple kids, be really careful that they are put into the first mixture at the same angle and to close to the same amount of depth on the back of their hand/wrist. One kid put their hand in about and inch and a half deeper than the other two, and it took me forever to get it sanded down to the same size (i put them in a shadow box, so i should have throught about that beforehand!) The bottom is what came out, and the top was my end result after the extra work. Bad pictures, but a really awesome gift!!

An amazing keepsake
This is the perfect casting kit to keep the memory of how little your babies hands and feet are. I’m glad I order the 4 pack because the first foot print I did when my baby was more wiggly and it didn’t turn out as good, but the rest turned out amazing.

Mixture did not work
Product did not turn pink how the instructions said and therefore the mixture got hard and was already to late for me to put the baby’s foot in the mixture

More difficult than youd think
this product is ok. first off trying to do this with an infant is much harder then youd think. we have a fantastic baby and tried doing this while she was sleeping and she woke up screaming. trying to hold her to do this was much harder then you would think. After we got the mold set and we put in the cement to make it it still came out wonky even though we followed the directions exactly. The concept is great but it is way harder then you think. if youre not a perfectionist and dont mind it coming out wonky give it a shot

Better than expected
The person we went to for our first for casting wasn't open anymore and everyone else was so far away. My husband decided to do the casting himself and surprisingly it came out pretty good, would definitely buy and try again.

Takes Too Long to Set – Impossible to Use with a Baby
I’m really disappointed with this hand and foot casting kit. The biggest issue is how long the mold takes to set — it stays soft for far too long, which is completely impractical when you’re working with a baby. It’s nearly impossible to keep a baby’s hand or foot still for that amount of time, so the final result ends up distorted and unusable. On top of that, the instructions/video provided are not helpful at all. They don’t prepare you for the actual timing or the challenges involved, especially with infants. Overall, this product doesn’t deliver what it promises and is not suitable for babies despite being marketed that way. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Great
Worked perfectly and nice to have 2 hands and 2 feet if u mess one up. A few bubbles but nothing crazy might have been user error.

Requires patience, great kit
Don't expect excellent results. Don't expect professional results but you'll get the main details. If that's enough for you then this is a great kit that will not cost you a fortune. You can contact the company for extra tips and they have videos online. This is one of the easier kits to use but did have to try a couple of times. Both times, some parts didn't come out despite trying all the tips and some pieces broke off. They can be stuck back on if you keep extra of the powder. Has everything you need in the box and had leftover material. Requires patience, you can only do one at a time.
