Engaging and Educational Anatomy Toy for Young Learners
The Melissa & Doug Magnetic Human Body Anatomy Play Set is a fantastic educational tool that combines fun with learning. Designed for children aged 3 to 7, it offers a hands-on approach to understanding the human body. Pros: • Educational Value: With 24 magnetic pieces, children can explore various body systems, including skeletal, muscular, circulatory, and internal organs. This interactive method enhances their understanding and retention of human anatomy concepts. • Anatomically Correct: The set includes anatomically accurate representations for both boys and girls, providing a comprehensive learning experience. • Durable and Well-Made: As expected from Melissa & Doug, the play set is sturdy and built to last, ensuring it can withstand enthusiastic play sessions. • Interactive Play: The magnetic pieces are easy to handle and place, promoting fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Cons: • Magnet Strength: Some users have noted that the magnets could be stronger, as pieces may shift if the board is moved abruptly. • Storage: While the set comes with a storage tray, a lid would be beneficial to keep pieces secure when not in use. Conclusion: This play set is an excellent addition to any child’s educational toys. It makes learning about the human body engaging and accessible. Despite minor issues with magnet strength and storage, its educational benefits and quality craftsmanship make it a worthwhile purchase.

High Quality Realistic Play Set
High quality, as always with Melissa and Doug products, and a great value for the money! This set is very durable. My 5 year old daughter loves this set and has been very curious and engaged in learning about the human body since she received it. It was a great conversation starter for discussing the differences between boys and girls bodies (there are two different organ diagrams) in an age appropriate way.

Excellent, sturdy & durable map of the human body made to be handled at a great price!
I wish there was some kind of lid on this nice wooden box. I'd be happy with a see-thrust plastic paper kind or even just a cardboard lid. Just something that fits the top of the box to keep all the pieces together. The doll with their varying sets of skeleton(bones), muscles, circulatory(blood system) with the heart, & major body organs including the body's largest organ (the skin) as a whole separate set of pieces (1set for male & 1 for a female child.) It is really pretty thorough in it's labeling, diagrams and explanation of anatomy for a beginner. As you expect with Melissa & Doug, this is a very sturdy, durable, hands on learning "toy" that can be utilized by children right on through high school. You know how we learn something when we're young & a few years later can't remember just what that was unless you use it frequently? This set is something a child can enjoy when they are 4-6 years but use again to refresh their mind when they're 8-12 years and possibly again between 14-18 years when you learn more about the human body. It would be ideal as a birthday party gift for almost any age.

Cool magnetic puzzle
My 4 year old is very curious about the human body so this was a clever way to encourage his interest beyond books. It includes internal and external anatomy pieces for male and female in an age appropriate way, which I appreciate. Overall, it’s great. A couple of small improvements would make it better. First, there are illustrations labeling the various body parts on the bottom of the box. The illustrations and labels are very handy, but the location is not since you have to dump out all of the pieces and flip over the box to view it. Also, some kind of cover for the tray would be appreciated. I worry we will end up losing pieces because there is nothing to contain them. This is still a great learning tool, but the addition of a lid with the labeled illustrations would correct both of these issues and make this puzzle an A+ for me.

Homeschool anatomy lesson
I homeschool my kiddos and this was the perfect addition for our anatomy unit. My eldest is using a squishy guts model and we got this Melissa and Doug magnetic “toy” for our four year old whom we are starting preschool for. The lesson was a hit! This is a toy that we will revisit numerous times to cover all the different systems. I picked it because it’s anatomically correct and wanted an age appropriate way to discuss the male and female parts. Like others have mentioned, this needs a lid!!!! Seriously! I’m considering getting a letter tray so that we can sit this horizontally to avoid losing parts while still maximizing space. That way, we can use the other letter tray slots to hold other similar non-lided wooden toys and puzzles. I also wonder if Melissa and Doug’s wire puzzle rack holder would work for this. I may look into getting one If this review was helpful, please leave a thumbs up 👍🏼 Update on June 1, 2021: The largest Melissa And Doug wire rack designed for chunky puzzles will NOT accommodate this anatomy set. It can only accommodate puzzles up to 3/4” in thickness. The anatomy puzzle is about 1-1/8” thick. I measured. I still haven’t figured out an ideal storage solution. They should REALLY come with lids 😑 It’s been a few years since this purchase and we’ve managed to keep up with all the pieces, even after a cross country move. But we’ve had some close calls. My then 4 year old is now almost 6 and she still uses this. I have a 2 year old now and a 2 month old. So it will continue to get lots of use. Therefore, I’m still contemplating the best way to store this when it’s put away. I can somewhat squeeze it into a Tall clear shoebox container from The Container Store (the ~$5 one) but only if I really push it in. I never got a letter tray to store it on because it doesn’t address my need for a lid. So for now, the shoe box from The Container Store will have to do. And when it’s in use, it just sits on a bookshelf (Montessori style).

Makes learning fun!!
As a homeschooling family, were always looking for fun nee toys that can also be educational. Since we are currently learning about the human body I figured this set would be perfect. First off, I want to point out that this set is anatomically correct. This was something I was purposely looking for due to the fact that I believe it's so important for kids tho learn about all parts of their body, including the parts others deem "uncomfortable" tho talk about. This set is also extremely week made! That's one reason we love melissa and Doug toys so much! They are made of thick wood with magnets on the back. These magnets are on there very securely, and you don't have to worry about them falling off. Included in this set is male and female complete naked bodies, an outfit for each, an a set for the muscular, skeletal, and circulatory systems. Overall, I'm very happy with this set & My kids have had so much fun playing with it. This has also been a great learning tool and would make a great addition to any classroom or kids room!

Human Anatomy Play Set
This is a cute, educational toy set that teaches about human anatomy. The pieces can be mixed and matched. The various layers show internal organs, bones, muscles, and disclaimer: g*nitalia. A parent giving this to their young child is one thing, but coming from another adult could be awkward. I was expecting the various internal layers but pulled the external view aside when playing with my grandchild. Solid construction, informative and educational, but there's not much to it. It's not something that holds their attention for long.

Learning & Play
This was a big help with my child learning about the body. Made it fun. Magnetic pieces and both male and female pieces.

Organs… Assemble!
Move over Picasso; my daughter's latest masterpiece isn't on paper – it's a magnetic human anatomy puzzle by Melissa & Doug. This isn't just a puzzle; it's a miniature medical school for pint-sized doctors. I've witnessed more body part reunions than a superhero team-up movie. Forget regular puzzles; my living room has become an anatomy lab with limbs, organs, and a wooden stand that deserves an honorary PhD. My kid is now a certified body builder – of magnetic human figures, that is. Who knew learning about organs could be this magnetic, both literally and figuratively? Melissa & Doug, you've turned anatomy into an art form!

So well-made, but needs to be magnetic through all pieces. Great that it is anatomically correct. Granddaughter loves it and we talk about different systems of the body.

Calidad y funcionalidad
