Sony's line of E-Mount (previously called "NEX") cameras are good cameras, but they have 1 flaw. The lens mount is a 2 part construction, with the critical component that holds the lens in place made of plastic. This is why many of the lenses attached to an E mount camera are prone to wiggling, especially longer pro lenses. Now, You can replace the original 2 piece NEX mount with an full-metal one. Metal E-mount Function Features: -Full Metal, to improve issues that easy to wear and breakage about the original plastic bayonet. -Life far more 10 times than the original bayonet. -Bayonet precision machining does not hurt the lens. -Minimize lens shake. Applicable models: Sony E-mount series: A7 / A7R / A7RII / A6300 / A6000 / A5100 / A5000 / NEX-3 / NEX-5 / NEX-3C / NEX-5N / NEX-7 / NEX-F3 / NEX-5R / NEX-6 / NEX- VG10 / NEX-VG20 / NEX-VG30 / NEX-VG900 / NEX-FS100 / NEX-FS700 / NEX-EA50 etc. Note: Sony E-mount A7S / A7II have metal mount, without replacement. Package Included: Replaceable metal mount for Sony NEX x 1 Screw driver x 1 Review: Excellent alternative to $40 Tough E-Mount - Ignore the comment that this lens mount is made of aluminum - so is the original mount on my Sony a7r that I replaced. This is an excellent product that is well machined. See no reason to spend the extra money for the Fotodiox name. It is also very easy to perform the mount swap. Just remove the screws on the original Sony mount using the supplied screwdriver, flip camera over to have old metal mount fall into your hand. You will find a second plastic mount under the metal mount that you just removed. Carefully pry off the plastic mount since it is lightly glued in place. Be careful as you pry off the plastic mount since there is another springy flat and circular tensioner under the plastic that can easily fall out. Then place the new mount on the spring tensioner and screw in place. That is it. As an extra precaution, I cut out a small piece of aluminum foil and formed it into a small cup and placed it in front of the sensor so that if any debris fell in, it would fall on the aluminum foil. Takes less than 5 minutes. Review: Highly Disappointed!!! - I am highly disappointed. I'm using them for the second time and these things have caused all kinds of issues. I bought three for three sony A-series E-mount cameras. On the first shoot, one camera was rendered no good. We had to replace it with the old. Now on the second shoot, the second camera used in the first shoot captures nothing but blur, and nothing happens when we adjust the settings. Luckily, my S21 Ultra is up top to save the day in 8k because these things rendered my Sony G-Master 70-200mm f/2.8 and camera useless.

Fixed an issue I had with my camera.
A while ago while I was on vacation, my camera bag dropped off the counter-top and landed in a way that ruined the alignment of lenses on my camera. Whenever I took a picture afterwards, the left side of the photo would be out of focus compared to the right side of the image. I thought I would have to buy a new camera. Then one day realized that the metal lens mount was easily removable. Just four screws. And when I took it off, I noticed that the mount under it was just plastic and that part was damaged. This new mount that I bought is completely metal. Replaces that plastic portion with a solid metal mount. I bought the item, installed it, and now my pictures look better than ever. I can't express how happy I am about that. I love this camera and now it's as good as new and lenses feel better supported to the frame. Excellent, excellent product.

Works, for the most part.
It works! Definitely no longer any lens/body play, but.. it is a little tight for my likings, fits aftermarket adapters perfectly but both my sony kit lenses fit a little snug for my liking, 1650 requires a little extra effort and wiggle to get it to *click* in... But, again, there is now no lens play.

nothing super fancy just ok
The mount has some pros and some cons. Built quality seems ok, nothing super fancy just ok, at least better than what the a6000 comes with. Maybe some other options more expensive could have a better finish. I was by no means impressed by the quality of this, again it is just ok. As far as package it comes in a small box with a useless screwdriver. I couldn't use it, it just kept bending on me, I had to use another screwdriver. Has no instructions but there is no need for one, very straight forward. The mount itself installed has different feels depending on the lens you use, at least my copy does. With the 16-50 kit lens it works as any good lens mount should work. It is smooth and it has a click when you have it in place. No movement whatsoever. However wit the 18-105, at first I thought it was stuck, very very very difficult to put in, it has a click and it does't move or flex. But it is very very tight fit. A little much for my taste. To take the lens out it requires a good amount of effort but its doable. Before you could feel a lot of flex and a horrible twist with this lens, now it feels very thought. If you change lenses a lot, maybe it can wear out, i dont really know, my camera has the 18-105 99% of the time. Should you buy it? depends, i did buy it because I usually photograph climbing guys, so when i had it with me in the wall I just didn't feel comfortable with the original mount, way to much flex. If you use small lightweight primer or the kit lens, there is no point on it. if you use big lenses go for it.

Did what I wanted it to.
I bought this in the hopes that it would eliminate - or at least minimize - the rotational play I could feel in lenses mounted to my a6000. The replacement was pretty straightforward. As others have said, just take things slowly and don't try to remove the screws from the screwdriver until they are well away from the sensor. As to the results, I would say that it removed about 90% of the looseness. There's still a minuscule bit of play, but I don't expect it to be a problem or even a distraction. FWIW, I believe that the lens looseness came from the plastic portion of the mount having larger tolerances in the screw holes, giving it the ability to rotate ever-so-slightly under the metal ring. The one-piece design of this replacement eliminates that possibility.

Thought I could spend less for once.
Having previously owned many of the Toughmount by Fotodiox for many former cameras I owned, I thought for once I would give this cheaper option a try with a backup camera I recently purchased. Once I replaced the original mount and attached a lens, the lens got stuck on the mount. Good thing I have a lot of tools or any normal person would have ruined the camera or lens. Thankfully I got it off and ordered the Toughmount again. Wasn't worth the money or the time I lost not using the camera.

Aluminum Mount
I received this today and I was surprised by how light it is. This is not brass or copper like most other mount replacements. I will admit my mistake in assuming this would be brass when it doesn't state it anywhere. By the weight, I would guess this is aluminum. I'm not sure what the OEM metal part of the Sony A7 mount is, but I don't think it's aluminum. The whole point of the replacement is to take out the plastic part of the mount and use a stronger metal to make lens attachment more secure. I don't have much confidence in this and for now, it won't be going on my camera. If my A7 mount actually breaks, I have this as a backup. Otherwise, I don't see it as much of an "upgrade" to the stock camera.

Fixed my lens mount issue - perfect
I bought a used A6000 for very cheap due to lens not being recognised errors that were happening 50% of the time. didnt matter if the lens was recognised at first, it would start to have communication problems after 3 or 4 shots. Taking the lens off and putting back on sometimes would cure it but not always. I tried several different lenses and had the same issue on all apart from a 28mm sony lens it seemed to like more. I noticed the plastic insert of the original mount looked pretty worn around the contact area at the bottom of the camera. Took a punt that the plastic/metal bayonet had seen better days and replaced it with this. Easy to switch out the mounts and now the errors have gone after exhaustive testing. An easy and cheap fix. Seems looking at the reviews it is a lottery if you have one that is machined correctly. mine fitted like a glove and a very nice secure mounting is now made. Only thing I would say is the supplied screwdriver is made from chocolate and not fit for purpose, so get a good quality PH000 screwdriver. I would try to see if this mount will work for you first and if not, get the expensive branded one at that point.
