Buy Korg nanoKEY Fold | Foldable MIDI Keyboard - White: MIDI Interfaces - desertcart.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases Review: Fantastic pocketable Midi Keyboard with tons of clever functions - This pocketable/foldable midi keyboard is what I had been looking for for years. I was always surprised that it did not exist. Now it does. And it is well thought through as only Korg can do it. I unpacked it, plugged it into my Mac first and iPad then and was lost in an hour long music making bliss - the best indicator for a successful music making tool. This is so much more than just a midi keyboard. The many Arpeggiator modes and patterns, the chord function, the split keyboard, the scale functions with lit keys, the swipe keyboard function, etc... there is so much clever thinking that went into this... I am impressed. The keyboard is as big as my phone when folded and lies flat when unfolded. It is small but a real powerhouse of a midi keyboard. It is well built but I agree with many reviewers that it does feel a bit light and flimsy. They key buttons work well but I agree with others that it would be better to have the whole key surface be an actual perusable button. I hope in both of these in a version mk II of this. Despite these two points I would not hesitate buying this again and warmly recommend it to anyone that always wanted a small pocketable midi keyboard for the phone/iPad/laptop to carry along. Review: Love it AND maybe hate it just a bit - Why I got this despite the complaints: it has a TRS midi (type-A, but my gear is type-B). The channel is set GLOBALLY to channel 1 by default unless you install the software and change it. You could feasibly save different channels as scenes to recall later without the software to make this pivot. You will want the digital version of the manual handy to decipher the arp patterns and other settings that are merely numbered. Just fine for beats but I can see some folks truly despising the bubble keys if they actively play parts vs enter notes into a sequencer. I use it with a Tracker Mini that will accept midi on any channel, then I have the Tracker send the info to the midi channel I want. The sliding hinge folks diss on is protecting a ribbon cable that needs space to avoid a pinch. A cheap HD case can easily protect this and store a couple cables.

Buy it
It has the equivalant of a Screensaver for a piano keyboard. Absolutely brilliant.

Instant regret
I bought this because I'm putting together a tiny suitcase rig to keep me from going insane in vehicles and hotel rooms, it's good for that and that only, otherwise it's a huge pain in the ass. Buy a Keystep, a Swing or anything Keith McMillen before you blow money on this gimmicky thing. I've had mine for two weeks and I'm already considering trading it for a lap harp.

The perfect travel midi keyboard
A ton of functions on an incognito keyboard. I travel every weekend for work and this thing has been a game changer. I’ve used it on the plane, in the hotel, even on break at work. Fits in the smallest pocket in my book bag. Yes it’s plastic, but once it’s unfolded and lying down flat it feels fine. I have small case for it for extra protection. Syncs up with all of my Daws and VST with no problem. I think it’s pretty sick for a midi keyboard on the go. Just buy the Amazon protection for $20 and you’ll be fine

The size isn't worth the playability or build quality
I mean....the size of this thing is why I bought it. But good lord is not a musical device to use. The bubble vinyl buttons have no touch and are odd to play on. I do like the arpeggiator and the headphones input tho. But the overall build is so cheap. For $140 they could have easily made it thicker plastic or metal even. It feels like it will shatter, being carried around in my bag. Returned it.

Super light weight...but is that a good thing.
Great product in its simplicity. Plug in and use easily with Ableton. Keep in mind, this is a midi controller and does not come with its own sounds. I found the software package worthless but if you have Ableton and a plethora of sound packs loaded in, you're set to have a ton of fun. Perfect device for writing tracks while out and about. The product is in my opinion, too light and feels like it could easily be damaged. Would like to see some tougher skin and hinge parts, especially as a midi you'll want to be taking with you everywhere.

Topp. In Verbindung mit meinen Korg Volcas und Roland Airas Super. Klein, handlich, mobil. Von den Funktionen ebenfalls klasse. 5 Sterne

I should have looked over the specs much more carefully. This device needs to be connected to a host of MIDI apps and equipment to be really useful.
