My Toshiba micro wave no longer is functional . under warranty?
The micro wave purchased from Amazon Prime in May of 2025 has been great until 3 weeks ago when it stopped working. examination by licensed technicians revealed an internal burned connection with char. I think it should still be under warranty. I have purchased an identical replacement from Amazon Prime which is working fine. The May of 2025 Toshiba is in the shipping crate the new one came in. What to do? Willy Schwenzfeier container that the new one came in. ? under warranty, Refund? it is repairable and you may wish to pick it up

Safety failure on door latch assembly
The Microwave worked fine until this June 2nd, 3 months out of warranty, bought new March of 2024. I called Toshiba, and told them the problem, the door latch safety switch failed. I have worked in the Electrical; and Electronics field for over 60 years, I have built 8 computers and 2 TV's, I know what I am doing. I checked first on reports and the door latch assembly is cheap and has a bad track record on failures. I called Toshiba twice and they could not even find the part number I gave them. Of course not because it is supplied by a company called Medea so it is their part number, but the tech could not cross reference it. I will never purchase another Toshiba appliance, and neither will 45 friends and family members because they all look to ME for advice on any technical. Here is Toshiba's answer to me after my second call to them: Richard Jun 10, 2026, 1:27 PM EDT Hi Richard, Thank you for reaching out to us. We do appreciate your call. The door latch switch assembly you were inquiring about is not in the Midea website. Your warranty has also expired and the responsibilities now falls on you to source the defective part. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day. Obviously, Toshiba, you care nothing about either SAFETY or your customers.

1st equipment failed - Toshiba sent another one ..
17 Jun 2026: Toshiba to honor the warranty, decided to send another equipment. The new equipment is working well. I wanted to give the benefit of doubt and decided to make it 4 stars. *********************** Gave 1 or ZERO stars. I bought this microwave as a replacement for the LG wall mount that on me. We got all accessories to put it inside the wall mount, and it worked for some time. It was my mistake not to have got the insurance. It started sparking last month (13+ months) and I went on the web to find out what it. Internet resources told me that it is the paint that might rust rusted letting the microwave spark from inside. Later I had to dismantle it and set it aside and get a new one. In the past I'd used Toshiba products and this was disappointing. Please do not buy it.

Toshiba full size microwave
Great size and powerful Definitely made for the family. It's very quiet and not heavy at all. Easy to place onto the counter, yet heavy enough not to move when you pull the door open. The new child lock does get annoying and should be able to be removed or disengaged. Overall, very a great purchase.

Better than Panasonic
For those in the know, Panasonic has been the go-to brand for microwave ovens for a long time. Something like 90% plus of all of the microwave ovens in the world are manufactured by just three companies, with Panasonic almost the only company doing any real R&D on them. Panasonic invented inverter power control for microwaves, sensor cooking, and a laundry list of other things we take for granted in our microwaves. So why did I buy Toshiba this time? Because Toshiba did it BETTER. Toshiba's panel features one-touch buttons for cook times from thirty seconds to six minutes, and all of its most important sensor cook modes—the ones you'll use most often—are two button presses. Cooking frozen vegetables? FRZ VEG, START. And that's it. On the Panasonic that this replaced, that took eleven button presses. Microwave popcorn? POPCORN, START. And there's one other VERY IMPORTANT thing that this Toshibs has that almost no other microwave oven with comparable features on the market has: A DOOR HANDLE. Yes, to open the door, you grab the handle, lift the safety interlock latch, and pull. Just like any normal door. You don't need one hand to push a stupid mechanical push button, and the other to pull the door open by its edge because the door open button linkage is sticking again and the door doesn't have a handle. By the time the previous microwave failed (a non-repairable fault in its control panel), I was heartily sick of that stupid door-open button. So looking for an oven that had a PHYSICAL DOOR HANDLE, as well as the cooking features I wanted, was actually one of my top shopping features. Toshiba offered that physical handle. Nobody else did, in an oven in this class. One caveat: The first oven we received had a fault, and we had to return it. Toshiba USA customer service is an absolute pain in the nether regions to deal with. Be aware.
