Galt Toys, First Cross Stitch, Embroidery Craft Kit for Children, Ages 6 Years Plus, Multicolor

I bought this for my 6yo. The box comes with basic instructions on how to cross stitch. The pictures are fun and including them with rings, wallet and frame is a great idea. I was looking for a set that would include a real needle and not a plastic one. This is a proper cross stitch set, it feels more grown up. After I showed her the start, she has quickly picked it up and she is cross stitching by herself and she loves it!! Perfect gift for quiter children capable of concentrating. I love it too!!

My granddaughters loved making this with me. Its good for little hands to teach them how to use a needle and thread. Great for hand and eye coordination. The one was 4 when I first bought this and the other was 6 but even the 9 year old enjoyed this.

My 5.5 yr old really wanted to practice her new cross stitch skills and I thought this might be a nice introduction. Good kit and she really enjoyed sewing the pencil case but the cross stitch images were too tricky for her as the holes were small and very near to eachother.

Grandaughter age 7 found it a bit difficult at first i must admit i did most of it but she loved it and we finished note book she was thrilled has now got interest in doing next little project in box which we will do next week. Loved the printed squares and lots of colourful yarns

This is not suitable for children age 6 to do independently as good fine motor skills needed as it’s a sharp needle

This kit is perfect for my 6 year old daughter, who wanted to try embroidery. With a small amount of instruction, she's now embroidering totally independently.

Could do with the patterns being a bit bigger. I’ve put a £10 note in the pictures for comparison. Took my 7 year old a while to get the hang of it because the patterns are quite small and he couldn’t see the ‘squares’ very well. Good value for money though just might take younger kids a while to figure it out especially if their impatient
