Professional tool for professionals
Take some time to set it up, but keeps the settings, printing quality is very good, in general a versatile tool and very useful for the modern tradesman. The cartridge it is not very long, but labels are distinctly visible and looking good, they could be used in harsh environments, like a job well done. Would recommend!

Has all the functions of a standard machine PLUS cable options
I bought this model because it was on offer but I wasn't sure that it had the same functionality as a standard machine and the blurb on the listing wasn't very clear... so, just in case anyone else is wondering the same as I was... it absolutely does have the same standard label options as well as the ones useful for electricians. You can print standard labels in small / medium or large text. Have them in bold, italic and even in a box. This machine is brilliant - having used a Dymo Letratag machine for years, I am now a convert to Brother and wish I'd discovered it sooner as the cartridge colours and options are so much more useful.

a versatile label printer
Even for non-electricians this is a worthwhile buy. I bought this a few weeks ago to replace an old label maker (from another famous manufacturer) and I'm still learning the many different possibilities this printer offers. The power and flexibility of this machine are impressive, it does so much more than my old printer and it's easier to use too. Need a label to fit in a specific width, no problem (set the max label length), need to label a bunch of individual cables, it's simple. The list of options seems endless and I doubt I'll ever use them all. The Brother supplied tape is excellent quality, crisp and clear with a strong adhesive, but I've been a cheapskate and I'm now using a much cheaper compatible tape. So far it's working well and we'll see how this tape fares. Labels made on the old machine, using manufacturer's tape, have now faded, hopefully tape technology has moved on and this will not be a problem going forward. If you need a label printer, I highly recommend this one, especially when it's at a discounted price. I've knocked a star off for the long lead-in that gets added to each label (it feels like a cynical way to increase tape sales). You can get around this issue by printing multiple labels in a single run, separating each label with a few spaces. Obviously you need scissors to separate them, but you need scissors anyway to reduce the length of the lead-in.

Brilliant machine
You will think there is no need for this , but once you buy it , you can organise the workspace so much better , adding labels to drawers and cupboards , just to make life easier , comes with a 4 M roll of tape , black on white , and does work with off brand rolls of tape ! Downside is that is a little wastefull , does about 2 cm of empty print , but that is the nature of the printer , having to give you something to pull once it finished printing , that can be lowered by adjusting the length in the settings ,

The Last Label Printer You'll Ever Need
I've not explored all it can do yet, and it has a lot of talents if you were to fully read the instructions. But the simple task of generating black text on clear labels (sold separately), so I could identify two identical bank cards, was effortless. I've got a few different label types to try out, this diversity of label stock was something that drew me to this device. So far, battery life seems good, but it does take A LOT of them, so don't forget to stock up! It feels solid in your hands, looks like a rugged workhorse, and it runs like a workhorse. It's quicker than my previous unit from another well-known label maker, which looks like cheap, tacky plastic in comparison.

It just works
Very impressed with this unit, it's very well designed, and everything "just works". For example, if you use some of the symbols frequently, you'll find them in the "history" symbol category. I was looking for something to produce professional-looking labels for a MIDI controller keyboard, and this works well for that. It's buried in the online manual, and the Menu, but you can set a tab size in mm, and print a series of text at consistent sizes. To address some concerns others have raised: Yes, the keyboard is "QUERTZ" not "QUERTY", but that's really not a big deal once you get used to it. It has come from Germany, so the language is initially German, but Menu, Arrow Key a few times will take you to Language/Sprache(?) and you can change it to English. The picture shows 6mm white-on-black tape which I bought separately. The manual that comes with it just has some pictures of using the basic functions, so I'd recommend searching for the full manual online.

Ham Radio
Very good... has a nice clear screen... prints good durable labels. Bit of a faff getting the label fonts and size right but it works for the radio projects and other hobby applications that it was bought for. I wanted one with some electrical signs on it for ham radio applications. You will find this one gives a more professional signature to your work. Worth considering.

Not QWERTY Keyboard.
As others have said, its not a QWERTY keyboard, not sure why as the box and details all state QWERTY but on opening its a QWERTZ one. Haven't tried it yet as not sure whether to keep it or return.
