Old school way of tuning
Electronic tuners are fantastic, but folks were using tuning forks before the electronic tuners were invented. I think that was the first thing my guitar teacher taught me some 50 years ago: strike the tuning fork on your knee and hold the end of the tuning fork on the bridge of the guitar, then you can hear the reference note easily. Using the E (not the 440 A) makes it much easier. The tuning fork even works with electric guitars (with the amp turned on) by holding the vibrating forks close to the pickups, though admittedly it’s clumsier than an electronic tuner. So I stuck one of these tuning forks in the compartment of each of my acoustic guitar cases in case I forgot to bring a clip-on tuner…or the battery in the tuner is dead. I sewed up a makeshift pouch out of brightly colored felt to stick the tuning fork in so it won’t rattle against a capo or anything else in the compartment. Oh, I got four of these and checked them with an electronic tuner and they were all perfectly in pitch.

Buy more of them.
It is the best tuning fork I have ever used. The sound is accurate in a deep vibration. I like the rubber handle so you don’t compromise the vibrations for accurate pitch. My hands don’t work as they used to but by gawd, the guitar is tuned. The product is better than I would have imagined. 5 tuning forks straight up. Papa Del

Nice Tuning Fork
It sounds nice and works well. To the the best of my knowledge this is actually 439 Hz. Not 440 Hz but close enough for me. I have been playing for 40 years and I don't need absolute precision. A guitar teacher I had many years ago taught me how to use a tuning fork. I like using one and find that it really helped me learn better pitch. I still like my clip on Snark tuner, but I find trying to tune by ear is really helpful in the long run.

Musicians need this!
This is a great product, all music students should have one! Easy to use and maintains pitch. I'm still using this product today (2024)! Definitely worth it! Only concern is that the little red rubber band on the handle does come loose and will come off easily.

A great small tuning fork.
It's a tuning fork, so what's to say? Well, it's accurate. I bought two and they're both exactly 329.6hz. I tested them. It's as loud as any fork this size, which means not very. It sustains as well as any fork this size, which means about 20 seconds. There are no sharp edges, so there are no worries about scratching the bridge of my guitar if I want to hold the fork there. The only criticism I can offer is that the little colored band that denotes what pitch the fork is (in this case, green) is a loose-fitting rubber band kind of thing that sits in a groove and will fall out of it constantly. It's annoying only if you have multiple forks at different pitches.

Perfectly tuned
For those concerned about it being hard to hear, you need to be aware that you’re supposed to tap it on your knee, then hold the rounded bottom against the body of your guitar and your entire guitar will ring an “E”. A great product!
