Accurate and easy to set up
I purchased this to replace a different model that only lasted about a year. In fact they no longer sell the model I previously purchased because of so many complaints. The issue with the older model was you needed to open up the unit in order to replace the batteries. The plastic on plastic screw top was very difficult to open and even harder to close all the way. As a result water started to get into the unit and it ultimately started failing. This new model solved that problem as it is solar powered and water tight. No need to open it up to replace batteries. Set up takes less than a minute. My pool is about 40 feet from the transmitter and has not lost the connection. The accuracy is also very good and matches what my hand held probe reads.

Great solution for me
This is a great unit! I had a remote wireless thermometer for the pool before, but you had to frequently change the batteries in the floating part so it eventually got water in it and corroded the small circuit board. This unto solves that and works great once you figure out how to set the correct connection frequency! I give this 5 stars for sure!

Cannot keep a connection between indoor and outdoor units
When I first put the pool unit in the pool, it was late afternoon (in FL). I could NOT get the indoor unit to recognize the pool unit. The following morning...the two were still NOT communicating. I took the indoor unit out to the pool. I still could NOT get the two units to communicate. So, I took the batteries out of the indoor unit and re-inserted them a few seconds later. Within 30 seconds or so, the two were communicating. I guess it was the equivalent of rebooting a PC.I certainly like the idea of a solar panel recharging an internal battery therefore no pool unit to unscrew to insert batteries. I have no idea how long the internal rechargeable battery will last.A previous unit like this (different brand) had the pool unit display messed up with condensation within about 4 months (the indoor unit was showing a temperate in F about 50 degrees lower than it really was) and I threw that one away).Update 3 days after installSo far, the indoor unit, at least daily, loses the outdoor pool temperature (display shows dashes). I have had to remove the batteries from the indoor unit each time to get communications going again. If this is a regular occurrence, I will return this unit. Whether I try another one…not sure. I’m lowering my star rating until I get more data points. Finally got fed up with constant communication disconnects between the indoor and outdoor units and returned it as "faulty".

Very accurate no problems
Love it I’ve had it for six months now no problems. I look at it every day this way I know when to go in the pool and when I don’t again, and I love it.

So far so good but there is a step missing in the instructions.
The transmitter unit seems solid, a little heavier than seems necessary but it floats well. It transmits easily at 100ft with a cinderblock wall in it's line of sight at a pretty decent vertical angle. The step they did not include in the instructions is how to pair the transmitter with the receiver. Easy enough to figure out. Turn the receiver on first, then push and hold the button on the transmitter for 3 seconds. As soon as the transmitter powers on it will send a signal and connect to the receiver and the 'wireless reception indicator' (3) will show. Make sure they are close together when pairing. If this product lasts I'll bump this review up to 5 stars.

Not quite as advertised
The build seems to be pretty good although I haven't tested in the water yet. However, there are two issues where this product doesn't meet advertised performance (loss of one star for each). First of all, the battery indicator is not functional. It does not show up on the receiver, neither for the receiver itself (status of the AAA batteries) nor the transmitter (status of the rechargeable battery). The charge level shows up on the transmitter (the thermometer itself) but not on the receiver. The pictures of the product on the product page clearly show that there should be a battery indicator for both the transmitter and the transceiver. But as the pictures from the professional reviewers show, the battery indicator doesn't show up. Secondly, deciphering the 433MHz chirp from the transmitter using SDR-RTL shows that the battery status information isn't transmitted. The only value that changes is the temperature value and the checksum at the end. What should probably be the battery status is constant (collected data for both 66% and 100% charge). In short, does not do everything that it is advertised to do.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY
I gave it a 2 for the fact that it came with a rope and at the transmitter it seems to be accurate. But if you want to use the wireless receiver you will have to keep resetting it once or twice a day. It loses the connection. Resetting is not an easy task either.
