Mystery Ranch Coulee 20 Backpack - Lightweight Hiking Daypack, 20L

I am 6ft 4inches tall and weigh 250lbs. I live and hike in the coastal pacific northwest. I am a fan of Mystery Ranch and this is not my first pack from them. I use a Metcalf for multidays and my son has a Pop up 40 I have used. Those packs are made for unreasonably heavy loads associated with successful big game hunting trips. This pack (Coulee 30) is a day pack. While it has a frame and full featured harness, it is not the same as the MT lite frame on their bigger packs. It is more than enough for reasonable day trip loads. It is just as durable as the bigger packs. Having already been familiar with MR harnesses it took me about 3 minutes to adjust the harness to fit perfect. First thing I did was put a 40lbs sandbag in it and take it for a walk up the stairs in my house. It was not unreasonable and I didnt hate it. But I would not want to carry more than that in this pack. Thr next day I put 15 lbs of winter hiking gear and water in the pack and did 7 miles with about 900ft of elevation gain. Most comfortable day pack I have ever carried. The weight distribution from consuming water and donning and shedding layers was unoticable. The pack carried tight to my back and square between the sholders. The hipbelt was intuitive and supported the weight saving my shoulders from pinch points and cramping. This is the first time ever I have been able to get the ergonomic curveture of shoulder straps to work for me. Because of my size I have to extend the shoulder straps to where day packs hang from the bottom third. Not so with this pack. It fits like my multiday pack. Thank you MR. Front stash pockets are perfect for folding trekking poles and dog leashes. Will not be big enough for a Nalgene. The waterbottle pockets were perfect for a Nalgene but too big for thinner Smartwater bottles. That said the compression straps work well for keeping things tight and less likely to shift. There are not alot of pockets. But I perfer to organize in smaller packing cubes which go into the larger "bucket" of the pack. Being able to lay the thing wide open with the 3 zippers is amazing for this. If you like alot of organization built in this is not your pack. But for me it is the perfect amount. The price hurt. But I would absolutely buy it again.

通勤で使用しております。 縦長の設計であるため電車内で邪魔にならず、荷物もたくさん入れることができ、着替え、お弁当、水筒を収納してもまだまだ余裕があります。 このバッグの特筆すべきところは耐久性と背負い心地です。 以前のザックは水を弾く代わり1年程使うとペラペラ剥がれてくる素材が使われており、長期間使うことが出来ませんでしたがこのザックはかなりタフです。全くヘタリを感じさせません。 背負い心地は今まで私が使ってきたザックの中でも最高で背負うと収納している重量よりもかなり軽か感じます。 値段は張りますが良い物を良い状態で長く使いたい方にはとてもお勧めできます。

This is the most comfortable backpack I've ever had in my life! Newbie to the hiking world, so maybe this level of comfortness is common for hiking bags, but I've owned lots of other bags for photography, tactical and travel. This is so far the most comfortable one. I really cannot feel that there is a backpack on me until I take it off at the end of the trail, all of a sudden I feels like I'm freed from the weight. But during the entire hiking my shoulder or back cannot feel the weight at all.

・実測重量は1.3ｋｇ ・用途は通勤と1～2泊の出張、子供の荷物込みの日帰り登山 ・身長173ｃｍでサイズS/Mを使用 ・2DAY&3DAYアサルトシリーズと比較 2DAYアサルトより軽量でフィット感に優れます。しかしながらアサルトシリーズ程、生地の厚みは無いので武骨な質実剛健ラインでは無く、登山とシティユースに寄せてきたシリーズだと思います。とは言っても、10ｋｇ超えの荷物を入れたり、地べたに直置きしたり粗く使っていますが、1年以上普通に使えているので十分な耐久性はあります。 ちなみに、ザック形状が弓なりで、底面も斜めなので自立はしません。 外側4か所にあるポケットは、伸縮性があって小物をちょっと入れておきたい時などは、アサルトシリーズより使い勝手が良いです。代わりに2DAYにあるサイドジッパーが無いので、背負ったままのアクセスには2DAYの方が便利です。 個人的にクーリーの一番のお気に入りポイントは、しっかりした腰ベルトが着脱式であることです。日常では腰ベルト無しで使い（カタリストにちかい使い心地）、登山の時は腰ベルトを付けるという、1つで2度美味しい仕様が気に入っています。 容量に関しては、サイドにコンプレッションベルトが付いているので、大は小を兼ねる的に選んでも問題無いと思います。着替えや防寒ウエアを入れない、通勤限定の用途なら20ｌでも十分かと思います。 クーリー30は日常とアウトドア用途を兼用したい人、人気のアサルトシリーズとのカブりを気にする人には最適かと思いますが、悪く言えば中途半端でミステリーランチっぽさが薄いザックです。

日帰り登山する為に購入しました。 大きさで悩みましたが大は小を兼ねるということでこれに決めました。 大きさ、ポケットが多くとても気に入っています。
