Friends recommended Morel and while I didn't want to splurge on their higher-end stuff, their affordable Maximo Ultra series was indeed pretty good. Sound was a tad brighter than I am used to (and I have heard my share of speakers back in the day), but these do a solid job.

Paired these up with an amp and the stock head unit in my RAV4. They can handle quite a bit and stay loud without ear fatigue due to excessive sibilance. Can fart out a bit on some frequencies that go through the low end of their range, but just back off the volume a bit if a certain song is doing that. You’ll like them for their more natural unhyped sound. Pair with the coax versions for the rear doors to get a fuller sound.

I bought these for $280 after tax, which was about 2.5x more than my previous set of Pioneer TS-A653CH, which I bought for $110. I can confidently say these are at least 2.5x better. The tweeters are better, but the woofers are leagues better, well worth the money. The biggest difference is overall imaging, I have 2 rear coaxials used as fill and the overall better separation and clarity from these make the rears much more noticeable. I have a Puzu PZ-C7 powering the speakers, giving them 50w, and it's more than enough in my tiny car. I can't comment on mid-bass too much since I already have a subwoofer installed. Highs are not as piercing as my previous set, but can be too much for some people, so I'd recommend having the ability to EQ it down before purchasing. The tweeters were too large to fit into factory tweeter location for my 6-speaker GR86, so I have them VHB taped on the speaker grill using the provided angled tweeter mount and have them pointed towards the rear view. I have the crossover hooked up using a Metra 72-8110, and had room to fit it in a crevice in the dash. I don't have experience with any higher end car speakers, but I can at least say if you have the funds, go for the better set.

The tweeter is incredibly bright. Like, too bright. I would recommend running them active if possible.
