MaimeriBlu Watercolor Paint Steve Mitchell Artist Set, 6 Tubes, 12ml, Assorted Colors, 1 Count

Love the colors I purchased Jenna Rainey's set. and hated the colors, (dull, pale, blah) so pretty much dismissed MaimeriBlu as a brand. Steve has chosen some absolutely gorgeous colors, vibrant and they work extremely together as a cohesive set.

The colors in this Steve Mitchell collection of MaimeriBlu paints are beautiful. Particularly, the Dragon's Blood, a color true to the color of the resin for which it is named; Quinacridone Lake, a sort of a toned-down magenta which is still vibrant; and Phthalo Turquoise, an "earthy" turquoise which is bright but still more muted. The remaining colors (Yellow Ochre, Hookers Green, and Indigo) are also really lovely - with the Indigo being the more unique of these. I also purchased the Jeannie Dickson set from MaimeriBlu, and while I think they are vibrant and excellent colors, they don't have the same unique tones as the Steve Mitchell. Based on my experience, the MaimeriBlu colors dry down quite solidly in the half pans I use. Sometimes, rewetting seems to be a bit more challenging than other brands I've used (M. Graham, Paul Rubens, and Daniel Smith) but they just need more water and time to loosen up. I really like MaimeriBlu paints and their choice and use of pigments. I would likely be more inclined in building a palette with them if they were just more readily available. It took almost three weeks for this set to arrive, and many other tubes I've looked at had an equally long delivery time. They're probably more available in Europe (they're made in Italy, after all) than in the US, and they do seem a bit more pricey here - again, probably due to their availability. I do recommend MaimeriBlu paints in general, but especially and specifically this Steve Mitchell set. The gorgeous pigments, the unique colors, and high quality make them worth the wait for the sometimes long delivery times.

First time using MaimeriBlu watercolor paint. It takes just a little bit to get used to it, as it applies differently compared to Daniel Smith or Da Vinci. But it's very nice. Single pigments, lightfast, and non-granulating which is what we were looking for. They blend beautifully., they are creamier. We use only the MaimeriBlu watercolor paint colors that have the AP seal. So if you are looking for those only, know that out of the 3 sets we've got and other colors we've got, 2 or 3 didn't have the seal, but we only knew once we got them, despite looking beforehand, so the information should be accurate.

These colors are a nice addition to my collection. They blend well and are vibrant.

I enjoy adding watercolor landscapes and enhancements to my Nature Journal. This set of professional grade watercolors exactly fits my purpose. They are well blended, rewet easily and apply smoothly. I wish these were available in a 5ml tube. 15 ml is a couple of lifetime supply for me.

The colors!!!! OMG! Just beautiful! And the mixes they make are great! The paint is very nice and well pigmented.

Very good pigment. The colors blend well and are a nicely thought out set of colors. They are best for nature or landscape since they’re earthy and lack vibrant colors but for what they do, they do it very well. Highly recommended.

Estou gostando mto dessa aquarela. Boa qualidade, maleabilidade e expansão. Embora as cores desse kit sejam mais bonitas, tbm são mais opacas, especialmente o ocre, isso afeta um pouco a característica transparente que a gente gosta. As misturas dão mto certo, são mto fáceis de ativar. Fiz misturas com tinta em creme, sem água, para criar novas cores e deixar nas panelas e deram mto certo, mas precisaram de duas semanas pra secar e ficar firme.

Lovely set of colours. Especially use them when following Steve Mitchell tutorials on YouTube. Vibrant colours and they mix well with each other, especially for landscapes.

These watercolours are truly beautiful. They go down well on quality watercolour paper and are a pleasure to paint with. They lay down well and the colours are exactly as depicted on the packet and tube. Will definitely be buying more of this brand.

These are really nice quality paints. Only four stars because the Dragon's blood color, for me, was less vibrant than when I watched Steve Mitchell using it on YouTube.
