We wish we had found these years ago!
This worked on a dog that we have bought SO MANY clippers for that have claimed to cut even the thickest of coats. A mixed cattle dog from Idaho- some kind of kelpie mix. My husband calls her an Idaho Fuzz. The other clippers wouldn’t budge a centimeter into her hair, literally. We have always had to pay professionals or just give her terrible scissor cuts at home. These clippers are so worth the money. They did heat up, but that was expected. We were careful and we only had to take one break and then we could get back at it. The clippers were easy to use, feel very sturdy and durable, and the trim was quick and stress-free (on us and our fur-baby!). Would purchase again in a heartbeat. I wish we had found these much sooner. We would have saved so much money.

Awesome clippers
Powerful. Turned me into a dog groomer and is saving me hundreds in grooming bills for my 2 doodles! Dont even bother with the smaller or lighter ones. I never thought I could do a decent enough job with them but I do with these clippers.

Good 'Budget' Clippers
Purchased to clip my horses for winter training rides. The noise level is low enough that it does not bother my sensitive mare, and it never got hot while I was using it on and off for ~30 minutes. The blades clipped just fine through a winter coat. I wish I could do a wider path and less lines, but I also don't want to shell out double+ the price for a tool I use so infrequently. My two gripes: Do mid-range clippers no longer come with a carrying case???? My old Wahl set had a crappy plastic case for all the parts, and it worked for storage. I was shocked these came in a disposable box. I ended up storing it in my first-aid vet box. Putting the blade back on is a major hassle. The attachment piece snaps back down immediately after removing, and it needs a freaking tool (not included - I used a flathead screw driver) to pry up and hold in order to slide back on. Seriously?? Overall, they are functional and sturdy clippers that aren't too noisy or hot.

Best Clippers for a professional or novice
I decided to start grooming my cocker spaniel myself because my dogs anxiety level is so high and the groomers take forever because she is “not cooperative”. The last time she was there 5 hours and didn’t even looked groomed so I de died no more. I have never done any dog grooming so decided I needed a professional tool. This clipper was well worth it. It’s easy to operate once u get the hang of it (watched multiple YouTube videos). It’s cuts the hair so well and glides easily. Big difference from cheaper clippers I have tried in the past. I have mastered my dogs body but still working on the limbs so she doesn’t look like so choppy. The decision to get these clippers has reduced my dogs anxiety, with a bonus of no transporting, no leaving her for 3+ hours and saving money.

Great but blade hinge defective-new one is perfect
These are quiet, cool clippers that went through my poodles hair very easily. They worked great on their first run. I went to clean the blade and oil the blade after the first run and the hinge was broken. It didn’t pop up so the blade could not be replaced. I’m assuming I had a freak accident one and am trying a new pair. Edited to add—- new one works like a dream!!!!! Highly recommend. Makes at home grooming easy and accessible

Finally — Clippers That Can Handle a Newfoundland!
After trying multiple “heavy-duty” clippers that claimed to work on thick coats, these are the first ones that actually made it through my Newfoundland’s fur. If you know Newfie hair, you know it’s less like dog fur and more like a dense, woolly blanket. Every other pair I tried stalled, snagged, or barely made a dent. These clippers powered through the undercoat and topcoat without overheating, pulling, or constantly clogging. My newf doesn’t have a lot of patience so we only groom in 15-20 minute intervals but no overheating during that time. Before these clippers I honestly thought I was going to have to move on to sheep shears, but these did the trick. I’m not a professional. Hopefully the other dogs don’t teases her on the uneven cut. If only the clippers could also supply talent and experience! But even with my insufficient skills, the clippers made a huge difference and saved a very expensive trip to the groomer. If you have a Newfoundland, Bernese Mountain Dog, Great Pyrenees, or any seriously thick-coated breed, stop searching — these are the real deal. If I could take away 1/2 star I would. My only disappointment is there’s no storage bag. Even the lower end clippers come with a storage bag. Surprisingly those don’t. Not a deal breaker. Highly recommend for fellow owners of walking mountains of fur.

Good Clippers. Impossible to Change Blades
The clipper itself was fantastic. Bought for my giant schnauzer and it stayed cool longer than my Andis and just melted through her hair. My issue was with the metal clip on the body itself that should come up to attach the blade. The thing doesn’t budge without a screwdriver lifting it and force. It’s obviously defective. I called Wahl and at first said it should come up fairly easy and with my fingers then said others have said it’s very hard and are having issues. It was a pain to quickly switch out blades and just not worth it when my Andis literally takes me a second to switch a blade. It’s a shame because the clipper itself is very good.

Hot loud and returned
Returned after one use. Casing would get extremely hot within a minute of being on - even with no blade attached. Annoyingly loud, and not worth the hassle of trying to find someone to fix it.

Did the job well
I bought this to trim my aging and matted standard poodle. It worked well and powered through her matted fur. I oiled and cleaned the blades every 15 minutes as suggested and had no problems. Like most trimmers the blade does get hot after heavy use. I purchased an extra to use when the other got hot. Worth the money in my opinion.
