Amazing reading, be careful with writing
Amazing! The only thing I didn't get used to was writing using its pen. I've been treating it as a ball point pen and was told that doing so will cause the pen to worn off fast. For reading, I liked the device. This is my first such device I bought solely for reading; It is convenient for me to find a pdf and start reading!

It’s ok if you are a neophyte with this e-notebook tech. It lags thou, battery seems to be ok.. but as I said ok as a starter but better go for remarkable… I guess

Reliable device, super responsive writing experience.
I've had this for about 6 months and I use it every day. I mostly just use the notebook features, ignoring the Android apps. The writing experience is just like paper, with the bonuses that the ink in your pen never runs out, and you can change the thickness of the pen tip and color of your writing ink at will. I really like that you can move pages you've created from one notebook to another and organize everything into folders. They let you use up to five layers to create a drawing or set up a custom form. The warm light works very well -- I have it turned on all the time. And I'm impressed by the brightness levels: they go from very bright down to such a low level that it's comfortable to see the screen even in a dark bedroom at night when you just want to write down a dream or an idea or a to-do item for tomorrow. I use a black template and write with white ink when using it in the dark. The screen is a little grayer than the Note Air C, and I don't notice any greater speed with the Note Air 4 C compared with the Note Air 3, so if you don't care about having color, the Note Air 3 will work fine for you instead. I've never set up an account under their cloud, and it doesn't constantly bug you to do so. There's plenty of space to store documents locally. Their file sharing mechanism (where they just give you a local IP address to type in on your phone/PC) is very easy to use. If your phone or PC is on the same wifi network as the Boox, sending/receiving files is fast and it's easy to see what you need to do. If you can create PDFs, you can make templates specifically for the Boox and easily send them. I have a bunch of custom templates on my Boox for board game sheets and to-do lists. The stylus that comes with it works well except that it has no eraser. Once you get a stylus with an eraser, you will never want to go back. This thing has pretty much replaced paper in my life.

Great digital notebook for a student
Great digital notebook! It was exactly what I wanted. This thing has odd programs and operating system, but well worth getting used to. There is an app that works on windows so I can see all my notes in FULL color on my computer and even print them. If you need a tablet that can double as a portable workstation, this is not the tablet you need. However if you do a lot of handwritten work/notes and want to keep them sorted and organized, this is your tablet. This screen is unmatched for writing. I am a computer science major. Some classmates of mine have Samsung, iPads and Microsoft Surfaces and they ALL complain that the screen is beautiful but too touchy when trying to handwrite in the programs. Also many of them say the programs aren’t great or they had to buy/subscribe to them. This tablet specializes in handwritten notes. The software is great and included with the tablet, no signing in or account needed. It just works. While the reviews say this tablet has a learning curve, it doesn’t take too long to mess around with it and set it up how YOU like it. The writing program is very customizable so you can get it just how you like it. Definitely not something you buy on the first day of class, but after a week of messing with it and trying things, you’ll have it down. The program is more like photoshop with layers and lots of editing tools. So far it’s had all the templates I’ve needed but custom page templates can be added. In the end this thing has been perfect over the almost year I’ve had it. Unmatched battery life and writing software. I didn’t need a device that just doubled my phone, I needed to kill loose papers. This thing holds all my notes, handwritten work, and digital books.

The best electronic I own
I waited a bit to write this review because I read so much negative about them. I love mine. I made note templates. I upgraded to the pen with the eraser. I don't use the backlight much so I can't attest to the brightness my son uses it and says is bright enough for his uses. It's worth the price. The feel is premium and writing on it feels like a pen on paper. If you can use an Android phone you will be right at home it functions exactly as an android very easy to use. Great for power users like me that want to root the device and make it more personal. Some of their first party apps need some work but overall they are decent. As an ADHD person this is a game changer. Helps stay on focus when note taking and reading.
