Cheap, discrete and good NRR ratio.
Good earplugs! Compared to the foam ones, the sound is much better, you can follow a conversation without problems even in noisy environments. The NRR is not the best, for example in the theatre or in concerts it can still be a bit loud, so I'd recommend another model. Comfortable, very easy to insert and remove and discrete, nobody will notice you're wearing them. A good choice for noisy (but not super loud) places or just to isolate yourself for the environment.

Very pleased with these
I got these as I frequently go to gigs and I'm starting to develop tinnitus/would like to protect my ears more nowadays. Looking at the different styles, I wanted some that could block out the highs, but allow me to still hear people talking to me! I also liked the idea of having a cord, so I could take one out and not have the risk of losing it. These work brilliantly; they block out the painful noise, I can hear people talking (when they shout over the music obviously!) and the little storage container they come with is super handy. Be warned though, they DO go quite deep into your ear, which isn't painful for me, but could be for some.

Tricky fit, but effective
Overall, the plugs worked well, nice and discreet, dampened the noise of a loud concert well but without losing fidelity (I tried with and without and the sound was very similar, if anything, cutting some Dbs helped to hear more detail in the music. The only issue that I had was that I initially found the plugs horrifically uncomfortable. A lot of reviews talk about needing to insert the plugs quite deep, and this caused acute pain for me. It might be that I have smaller ear cannels, but inserting until I felt a seal and then even backing off a little from there seemed to have a good reduction of noise whilst not being painful. I'm not a stranger to wearing ear protection, but I don't really get along with the triple flange of these plugs. Possible even this smallest size was a little too large for me. Overall I will continue to use them, but once they wear out I might try some other with a different plug design for extra comfort.

Imrovements on the original ETY-Plugs, a viable choice without over-spending
So I have the ACS ER-20's, also known as Etymotics Ety-Plugs which are very well known and recommended. I had a problem with the fitting of these in one ear only, I had to push them in too deep it was uncomfortable. So I ordered these in large size hoping they would help. Their profile is much lower than the Ety-Plugs so aesthetically they are superior. The comfort, for me anyway, is also superior - they don't need to be pushed in so deep as the originals. They stilll don't come as comfortable as wax / foam but they sound just as good as the original model which are highly regarded for live music. The fitting is fine for the duration of a concert but I wouldn't want to wear them all day long. Of course all ears are different but these are designed pretty generically so you have a high chance of getting on with them. If you have no previous experience with live music sound protection I would recommend these as a first try. They are probably as good as you will get for this price margin, although obviously they won't come close to custom moulded ones. They are designed by a highly professional and reputable hearing specialist so you can rest-assured be happy with the safety and sound quality they provide.

Total rubbish. Just awful.
These are totally awful. Tiny fiddly little things where down-sizing and cost cutting has gone mad. They are painful to wear and still feel like they will fall out. The noise reduction amount was rubbish. Not safe to use for me drumming. It said (when I bought them) 20db reduction but in the packaging it says (in massive letters, 13db). So, they are incorrectly described, utterly useless and no way worth the money I paid. The box they come in is irritating to use, you squeeze the corners so that the side opens. It doesn’t close fully after opening either. it looks like a little box with a lid, but it’s not! There is no seal made, so any contaminants could get in there and mess up the plugs before you put them in your ears. The case is so small there is no way it won’t get lost. The case comes with a thread-like chain that is so thin I would not trust it to link it to a belt or key ring. I have returned them and bought Alpine Musicsafe pro instead - I can’t fault them.

They do what they say they do but for me are expensive and uncomfortable
mm, I'm conflicted about these. I'm a drummer with a year's experience and I bought these back in January to use in the practice room with the band. Surely I thought, by spending more you get more? Maybe not. Pros Compared to cheaper ear plugs these do block a good amount of sound (more than enough) but leave some frequencies clear. I'm a drummer and they work well. Although I do have to take them out to hear my band mates well enough (see the cons section for 'taking out'). Cons However they aren't very comfortable to put in, take out, or even to use. I'm not entirely sure why. They feel stiff and sticky. Something that other earplugs don't (i'm currently trying the AlpineSafe plugs (way softer) and the cheap 3M plugs (way cheaper)) Also, as a drummer an *after* buying these, for the purposes of experimentation I bought said pair of 3M earplugs (with cord) for £3-4. I find those to be a touch more comfortable and they block a decent amount of sound but allow you to still hear what you need to hear - although that may be because they aren't a perfect fit, yet still fairly comfortable. And being picky... They feel really cheap and if I dropped them they would break. They haven't but I don't have much confidence in them. The really thin neck cord doesn't help either. If I were a Pro I would want something more rugged for sure. Also the little black case they came in is fiddly to use, the cheaper 3M headphones came in a little plastic box which is much better. In summary: Do I think they do what they say they do in terms of letting the good sound through and block other noises, yes. Would I spend £25 on these again if I lost them. No way. But I would be interested in hearing from so Pro drummers though to know what they think.

Wouldn't be without them.
These are great, really wouldn't be without them now. Much, much better than the Alpine ones I tried first; these really do keep a clean sound. I've enjoyed gigs more since having these; I think they may even improve the sound, taking away distorted loudest elements leaving a more balanced image.

Motorcyclist Approved!
I purchased these ear plugs along with the Ear Peace high fidelity hearing protection plugs. I ride a naked style motorcycle and experience excessive wind noise every day. (Despite what they say, all helmets are subject to excessive wind noise at highway speeds, just to different degrees based on design.) First off, these ear plugs look cool. Doesn't really matter in my ear, or under my helmet, but when I have them hanging over my jacket via the provided lanyard they look cool. The first thing I did when I opened the package, after admiring how cool they looked, was try them on. Obviously. They slide in very easily and fit snug - the firm base makes it easy to control insert angle and prevent applying to much pressure and hurting yourself. The little pull tab worked as designed to get the ear plugs out, but I found it a little tricky to get the right pressure to get them to pop out. The lanyard does this for me, and with the string, you get plenty of leverage if you need it. I recommend switching to the lanyard immediately. The fit was very comfortable and the first few time I used them I couldn't help but smile. The amount of clarity that these retain while in your ear is mind blowing if you are used to foam ear plugs. It really is exactly like just turning down the volume of everyday life around you. Some frequencies are muffled a little bit, but overall the sound quality is exceptional. I was worried they would be uncomfortable inside my helmet with the large plastic base. This was a non-issue after putting my helmet on and realizing they are seated comfortably inside the ear and do not stick out far enough to bump into anything. Chatting with people over my Bluetooth speakers sounds great, even at highway speeds. Voices are not muffled or sound out of place. If the ear plugs are not properly inserted you will probably notice a resonance in the lower frequencies. It's not a painful sound but the lower sounds have extra buzziness added to them. Just pull over and adjust the plugs appropriately or even continue to ride - I never found it uncomfortable. These were my top pick between the two, I'd recommend these to anyone looking to try a pair of reusable ear plugs! Nothing but praise for these!
