Yogi Egyptian Licorice Mint Tea, 16 Tea Bags (6 Pack)

I am very particular about what teas I like. Yogi Tea brand is really good because the tea steeps into a really delicious flavor, not watery like some of the cheaper brands. I have gotten so many people hooked on this tea because I love to serve it and drink it -- it's the perfect blend of mint to soothe and energise, and there is a distinct sweetness (not artificial and not sugary). I don't like licorice candy or tea usually, but this blend is really superb. I can't even explain why it's so good, but it really is -- helps me relax, helps digestion, and is just a really warming delicious blend. You might think 6 boxes is too much, but it's not! It stays well in the cupboard and now anytime my friends come over, they're asking for it! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

I tried this on a whim after a suggestion from my sister. I found it quite tasty and not needing any sugar or other fixings to make it good. My sister drinks it as a hot tea … which is good, but living here in Florida I lean more towards iced beverages. This tea makes a fabulous iced tea!!! Sometimes I’ll squeeze a little lemon into it, but most I enjoy it over ice. Try it and you’ll love it. As for the vendor, I’ve found they’re shipping to be prompt. I had an issue with one order where someone substituted for a different tea because they were out of stock. Customer service was great and had the correct tea shipped out to me the next day. I would buy with confidence.

I went on a quest to find a tea that would be a close approximation of the tea served in Aveda salons (which you can buy to take home, if you want to pay the exorbitant price). After some quick research I stumbled across this variety of Yogi tea that everyone swears tastes just like the Aveda version. My hesitation in purchasing this initially was due to my hatred of black licorice flavor, and licorice being in the name; however, I went for it - and I'm glad I did. I cannot tell the difference between the tea I have enjoyed when at the salon, and this tea. It is delicious, and if there's licorice in there, I cannot taste that as a separate flavor, so it works in the blend. My favorite feature of this tea is that it is naturally, lightly, sweet, due to the stevia leaf in it. No need to add any additional sweetener or sugars, just brew and enjoy. My husband has now started drinking this tea, too, so, after initially questioning my sanity at buying this 6-box-bulk-package, we are running out much faster than anticipated and will soon be buying another batch.

I bought this tea because I love the Aveda calming tea, and several of the reviews said it was very similar. I was also concerned because several reviews said the mint was way too strong. The directions say to steep the tea for 5-10 minutes. If you do that, you will get a VERY strong mint flavor and it is overwhelming (not like the tea from the salon). I tried it twice, once I left it about 10 minutes and the second I left it at least 5 minutes (possibly more). So I tried it again but only let it steep for about 3 minutes and it is MUCH better. The flavor is more mild and the flavors meld together better. I might even try it a little less (maybe two minutes) as I really like more subtle tea. Obviously you can't beat the price, and if you play around with the times, you will get something similar to the Aveda calming tea for a much better price.
