Perfect fix for floating step issue!
I like my "Blue Wave Easy Pool Step for Above Ground Swimming Pools". But I never loved them. They float too easily. I tried drilling holes to let air out and using various things to weigh them down without putting sand in the railings because folks complained about sand in the pool. Fought with it all last year. But these sand filled weights work perfectly. about 20 lns of sand fit in each one. then there ia a plastic bracket that easily attaches to your Blue Wave Easy Step. The weights drop in and lift out easily. No need to dump out sand. just lift them out when its time to take your pool down. So easy! They should really just repackage the steps to include these as part of the set up!

Flexible Installations
We have plastic steps for our above ground pool, but with living in the Midwest I didn't want to fill the steps with sand, since the water will be frozen over the winter and I want to take them completely out to avoid damage. They stairs would be very heavy to remove with the sand in them. With these, I can fill them up and then use large zip ties to attach them. At the end of summer, cut the ties and everything can be removed individually. The stairs I have came from Amazon, but are not the ones these are designed for. Doesn't matter, there are plenty of areas to run the zip ties and they work just fine.

Properly filled these work fantastic
If these weights are properly filled they work great. I purchased these after trying to make my own (which didn't work too well) Items needed: 2 50# bags of DRY filter sand a funnel that fits the opening of the weights something to tap the side of the weights ( I used a dead blow hammer) a comfortable outdoor chair to sit in while filling the weights MOST Important PATIENCE. 1-Set your chair in an area where you don't mind a little sand 2- place the bag of sand and other tools within easy reach 3- put a couple of inches of water in the weights 4- using scoop and funnel start filling the weights 5-after a few scoops gently bump the weight on the ground (gently) to pack the sand down and remove any air in the sand. This is the important part by packing the sand you remove air get more sand in there and thus and make it heavier.. I think this is where most people go wrong. you must have only sand and no air in the weights. 6- as it gets fuller its easier to tap the side with something (dead blow) than to lift the weight and bounce it on the ground. 7- If when you get to the top, sand comes out before water then you need to add some water as the sand needs to push the water out. This ensures there is no air in the weights. 8- Keep tapping and adding sand until you can absolutely get no more sand in the weight. 9- just follow the instructions on hanging the weights on the steps 10- enjoy a nice stable set of steps that will hold their place even when the kids make a whirlpool

Perfect for my ladder but a pain to fill
These were specifically made for my pool ladder system which was a great find. Prior, I had two water proof bags filled with sand zip tied to the base on each side but there was still movement so I decided to give these a try. The side clips fit nicely on my steps. These are a bit of a pain to fill. I had to find the right funnel that would work for me which ended up being an old jug where the mouth fit perfectly into the mouth of the weight. It still took about 15 minutes per weight to fill with sand by myself. I would stop, shake and tilt to ensure the sand was evenly distributed throughout the cavity. Total it was roughly .75 cuft of sand to give you an idea on how much to buy. Each one weighed about 35lbs when filled and all the air was burped out under water. They did add quite a bit of stability to the steps that I was looking for.

Ladder still floated up!
We bought these to go with the ladder made by the same company! Another reviewer recommended these weights to stop the ladder from raising up and to avoid having to fill the ladder with sand (which would make it very hard to get it out of the pool) We got these weights, filled them with sand and attached them to the side of the ladder. The ladder still rose up, not as much as it did without them, but it rose up enough to bother us! We bought 2 10 pound dumbbell hand weights (just the rubber ones from Walmart) and used zip ties and attached them to the side of the ladder (under the water) along with the Easy Step Weights, that did it, the ladder stays down now, but would not without the extra weights we added. Now we will be able to get the ladder out of the pool much easier because it's not filled with sand. I give it 3 stars because it does do it's job partly, and it's a great concept, but for us, it wasn't enough!

Great Pool Ladder Weights
We have an above ground pool. Tried the sand bags but they leaked and wore out quick. These attach easily onto our ladder which is a different brand than this advertises for. They hold the ladder down 80%. The ladder is screwed into the deck which helps too. But the bottom step is up a little bit. So plan to use a plastic weight Would be nice if this came with two smaller weights too. Overall we like it so far!

Awesome product
I have a 21’x43” above ground pool and even though the stairs are mounted to the deck on full of sand the bottom would tend to float. I mounted the weights and never had an issue again and my grandkids can be a little rough on them. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who asked.

Brackets to hold weights break
Very disappointed with the performance of this product. It comes with clips that you place on the side of your ladder to secure the weight. These clips constantly break off. We ended up zip tying the weights to our ladder. Considering the price of this product, I expected it to work more proficiently.
